Author Topic: Blockland is being seen as a threat/virus by Norton  (Read 2986 times)

Its because loving liars report it.

no, it's just norton.

no, it's just norton.
It was flagged because it received a "bad rating" from users

Either way, norton is stupid.

Norton sucks. It slowed down my old PC because it took up like 4GB RAm for its stupid scan. get Microsoft Security Essentials.

I'm 80% sure that Norton uses a random number equation to determine whether or not something is a virus. There doesn't seem to be a real method for determining what is and isn't a virus.

How about you just get Microsoft Security Essentials

Save your money, remove Norton, and download Avast! for free.

My dad made the brilliant idea of installing norton and internet explorer on our new desktop. he claims the sales guy who said he's a computer expert says internet explorer and norton are far superior to chrome and microsoft security essentials, and that i shouldnt remove them from the computer. im still mad at him for refusing to listen to reason.

even my sister is mad at me for trying to put chrome on the computer. she says im "breaking the internet" and that internet explorer is better. when i ask her why she always replies with "just because" and when i try to explain why she's wrong she just plugs her ears and goes "lalala i cant hear you" or sarcastically says "thats great" or "cool" "awesome". my family members can just be so stubborn at times.

Internet Explorer AND Norton and your computer still functions properly? The salesman is more than likely a commissioned affiliate with Norton / Microsoft.

Edit:
Google needs to make an anti-virus.

he is really slow when doing stuff on the computer, but not as bad as my mom. she doesn't even know how to use the back button on the internet browser, and she's lost countless job opportunities sent to her because she doesn't know how to use email. she can't adapt to modern technology, she's paying the price.

my sister on the other hand, she just spends her entire day on her trusty $2,000 macbook pro looking up videos of trampoline accidents and cute cat pictures and listening to one direction/justin beiber on itunes. she only discovered rickroll about 6 months ago and overly attached girlfriend last week.

i'm sure he only did it because microsoft security essentials is free and norton costs like $50 when he sold it to my dad, he just wanted my dad to buy more stuff. but nope. nobody ever listens to me in my household. we once had a huge virus attack on our last desktop, and before it broke, our internet explorer toolbars and tabs took up a quarter of the screen.

I get Norton for free because I use the business the edition (My parents have a business, not an actual business but its licensed). I have Norton Business Suite which has all the same features as a regular Norton would have for free. Norton has been doing its job so Im going to stay with it.

We need to figure out a way to get this problem fixed, maybe Badspot can contact Norton or something.

I tried downloading the current version of Blockland from blockland.us and after I downloaded it Norton brings up a message saying that a threat has been found in Blockland. Whenever this notification comes up the Blockland_Setup.exe gets deleted from my computer.

I click view details and it gives me a link I can click, http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99&vid=4294919973&prod=scss

I do believe this is false, there are just many obvious reasons why Blockland is clean. Norton tends to be silly sometimes. Is anyone else having this problem? Someone with Norton try downloading Blockland and see what happens.
Ew, norton antivirus. I remember reading something about it on the "Idiot Programming" Page on Tv Tropes.

Avast! is suspicious of blockland

Get rid of Norton and Get AVG, the free version apparently works as good as the bought one.

get kaspersky pro
it's the ultimate best you can get out there
