i'd imagine if it allows you to do that it'd say "GAME OVER (or similar) You killed x/x is dead"
now i wonder if you'll actually be able to wonder into the other dudes. that'd be cool

Doubt it, as the camera zooms out google earth style then zooms back into the character you switched to as he's doing something.

well if they aren't invincible while you're not playing as them, they could easily die, which would (or should) end the game
although, actually, they could just be teleported to hospitals if they're damaged too much

That only happens if you're out of a mission, it smoothly switches to the other players right next to you if you're on a mission with one or both of them. I'd expect them to be at their safehouse/home next time you switched to the other player.

I feel like the hospital thing might work. Idk, it'll be weird.

If you lose all your health, the screen usually blacks out or does something similar, and then you appear in front of a hospital.

That's always how it has been in every GTA, I don't think there is any reason for them to stop now.

because the game engines were stuffty years ago and they want to create how places are now, not years ago.

times are changing, and places/people have changed a lot since, like, 5 years ago. at least, california has.

i was talking about how san andreas first was a city, then it was three cities and now los santos is one separate island.

Los Santos was a separate island in GTA: SA too. In the HD Universe San Fierro and Las Venturas are probably nearby, they just can't include them. The cities and states aren't really islands floating around the ocean.

Also, about the "killing Trevor/Franklin as Micheal" and vice-versa - the one killed being transported to the hospital makes sense. I also imagine they would have loads of health when you attack them, compared to the NPCs.

On missions I imagine it would be like any other mission in the past GTA titles where if you kill your partner you fail the mission.

Trailers do contain gameplay footage. They just use a special detached camera. A lot of what we saw in the first trailer was gameplay - not cutscenes.

Information:
Underwater world (with underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed.
Side-missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs" because they wouldn't fit in with the 3 main character personalities, but the "three will have odd jobs to do".
Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile.
Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repo man jobs.
Trevor is inspired by the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.
Mission types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family issues, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved."
Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.
About the economy, Dan Houser says: "You will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things like expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of "I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item."
Dynamic music during missions (similar to games like L.A. Noire)
No co-op for single player missions, but co-op modes will be featured in multiplayer.
Big focus on multiplayer with a lot of content to keep players busy.

Alamo Sea is the name of the Salton Sea like area.

Switching in missions partially scripted - meaning, at times character switching will happen automatically.
In final part of a mission in the demo, the player can decide which character to use.
There are multiple different endings in the storyline which depend on the choices you made throughout the game.
The storyline takes around 25 hours to complete.
Map open from beginning, with the exception of some protected areas.
A certain amount of money will be needed to gain access to some missions.

Also, I wouldn't expect much more information than what we have. Most of it is just the same stuff, but different journalists. Rockstar is the type of company to reveal a lot of stuff. They just want to give us the basic info on everything, and let us discover everything else when we play the game - providing a much more full and surprising experience.
