I wake up to the voice of the boy. I turn to look into the soldiers eyes, "Your name?" I take out a lighter and I offer to match it for him. "You looks confused, you can speak with your hands, because it may seem you only know little english. Some times we can work on it?"

"Name?" I ask, "Alexander..." I nod my head to everything else he says just to look like I know what he's saying. I light the cigarette and take a long drag.

Shock seems to have calmed down from his previous pain-fit and is resting against the dirt wall of the dugout.

"Those painkillers worked." I said to Alexander. He looked confused, and I take some painkillers, make believe I ate them, and I put my thumbs up. "I. Want. To. Teach. You. English." I point at me and him, and do a pose with  my finger to make belive I am teaching, and I talk mumbo jumbo. I hope he notices what I am saying.

I stiff up, "Thank you, sir." I say, and I nod, looking at his grey-blue eyes. I turn to Sgt. Claire, "Ma'am, I am only offering to assist Alexander, so he can understand me, and most importantly, commands and conversations from all of us, warriors."
