you can change it, from 4 - 20 (i think), by 2's.
meanwhile i have a lot of awesome sounds that aren't mine >:D

In reality there were only five channels. There were expansion packs, though, that allowed for more.

i went and read all the effects;
and actually learned what most of them do, so that's cool.
i just hate the Exy stuff, uses a bunch of words i hardly understand (professional music related >:C).
0xx is incredibly useful for a neat blip sound, though.

Just alternate effects and increase their strength.
