Ping doesn't have all to do with connection. It can vary depending on where you are and go in and out.
Past a very low treshold latency/ping is virtually the only part of the network that matters when it comes to Blockland hosting.

Try joining, ping in server is much lower than on the server list for some obscure reason.

Pulling the joke card lol so lame

The ping is drastically lower once youve joined. The server list gave me 129, but in game its less than 50

yeah guys 50ms of ping makes all the difference!

lub, put a 50mb file on a webserver so we can test download speeds ourselves.
plus ftp, if you wouldn't mind.

The server doesn't run a public web server, will have to work out how to do that one.

What is the server limit per rack? Will you get another thing when you reach this limit?

Almost, that image shows 18 more available with 2 taken.

Just a quick update, first tests with Barnabas showed great speed and stability. Despite some people seeing high ping time on the server list, latency is drastically lower when in game. With 140k bricks and 20 players my ping was sitting nicely in the 90-120ms range from the UK which I consider to be brilliant.

The next step is to put a DM server up for testing. This will probably happen in the next few days and will most likely be hosted by Bushido.

If people are complaining about >100ms ping when that isn't the case, it does make all the difference
They're wrong by over 50%

Also the first ping will almost always show a higher latency than later requests, because it hasn't got any route cached. There's a wait while it routes the first request, subsequent requests will be quicker because the hops between already know where to send it to get there. So if you only checked once, that's going to be incorrect.

I'm looking forward to this and may use it on release.

Kalphiters looks sort of a grim interface, kind of like Android
