The forget? That's sketchy as hell.

Yeah what's the deal with that? I've used so many hosts and have never had to do that :/

why would they want your drivers license?

To be fair my last host also asked for it.

Sent the info out, no idea how long it'll take for them to get back to me.
Also hope it doesn't matter that I'm only 17.

(to be fair, they said I could black out most of the credit card number, but forget it, they're not going to steal my number, just provide stuffty service)

Still no responce, gonna send them another email, and then probably try to get my money back.
Absolutly terriable, never use server4you. Actually, maybe if I had just tried this a few days ago it wouldn't have been so bad, still really loving odd though.

Anyway, server seems to be up and the OS is installing now. Debian with plesk. (i hope plesk was the right choice)

Well, 12 hours after I got my server the os install finally started, it said it was at 35% for a bit before going back to 0.

Last time I'm going to bump this before I ask someone else to help because I really hate quadposting.

But anyway, should I go with OpenVZ or Xen?

With OpenVZ you're not guaranteed resources and cheap providers often use it to sell more resources than they actually have with the assumption that people won't be using all their resources all the time. Xen is technically impossible to oversell and often leads to better performance but is therefore more expensive.

Don't do got for a budget provider utilising OpenVZ hypervisors, you won't get good performance.

Told you S4Y was a piece of stuff too, don't listen to Kalphiter in future.

No, I believe I suggested you should get a dedicated server if your needs are large.

Not always the answer, try not to show your inexperience too much.

It depends on what he needs; he can specify that here. By this logic, any answer with a corresponding, contrary answer has that contrary answer because the person who made the answer is inexperienced.
