Author Topic: Kitton worked in an ER for 10 hours today!  (Read 6812 times)

I once split my head open somewhere when I was a kid. I haven't had many major injuries afterwards, unless you count a scar from when I was carving pumpkins and the knife slipped and cut my finger.

i just had eight vials of blood drawn today yay tests~

they were testing how many vials of blood they can take from a human before they pass out.

Oh and my dad said that once he was working in an ambulance and he was doing CPR on a guy and his ribs cracked under his hands. Must have been awful.

The on-going joke in our class atm is "if you dont break ribs your not doing it right" Almost every time you perform CPR ribs will be broken.
But a few broken ribs is better than death.

what if the broken rib stabs the person through the heart?

When I was little my mom worked in the ER. It's a really big and stressful job.

what if the broken rib stabs the person through the heart?
It would more than likely create a flail chest than stab a person in the heart.
That and im pretty sure the paramedics would notice if a rib stabbed teh heart =P

I was able to watch one of them get their head stapled.
this line makes it sound like you enjoy watching people get their heads stapled

A kid I knew and was kinda friends with died about 2 years ago of a grand mal seizure. He had bad epilepsy and was on medication, but it still got him.

No I think the guy died

But I didn't know that it was normal to break ribs.

I once sliced open my ulnar artery with a pocket knife.
They managed to stitch it back up or something, but holy hell did that hurt.

[no, i'm not emo. I was like, 10, and was playing with the knife to cut apart paper into various amusing shapes]

Whats your worst injury?
One time when I was little I accidentally slammed my head on the corner of a table, and it ripped open the skin above my eye. There is still a scar there.

I slammed that same exact spot into a log when I tripped and it left a huge veinie knot on my head. Didn't tear it open or nothing.
However I have broken my finger and rather than going to the doctor I continued to activity that broke it (I thought I had only jammed it since I could still move it)
