Alcohol is much worse than marijuana, so I think it should be legalized and placed under an excise tax.

I think the government should start selling all types of drugs to the people. It creates a new source of income, and hurts the dirty drug fueled gangs.

The people supporting the initiative to legalize marijuana in Washington brought up the same point. Funnily enough, the same voters who voted for marijuana because it makes money are the ones who voted to end state-run liquor stores in Washington because, as it turns out, the government loses tons and tons of money in their state-run stores. So the likelihood that the government would make money off of selling drugs is low.

But if drugs were privately sold and taxed up, then the government would see some green.

You are an idiot, the link you posted shows a scientific study that marijuana does not kill brain cells. You tried to support you argument and you used contradictory information to support your argument

it doesn't kill brain cells. that's not to say it won't have negative effects on your brain in the long term, it's to say that you would have to drink yourself to death (literally) before there would be enough alcohol in your system to literally kill brain cells

Even as a non-marijuana smoker, I support legalization. Not that my opinion is very valuable, since I have very little knowledge on the subject beyond the fact that it makes people happy. I mean, how many crimes have actually been committed by people because they're using marijuana?

I doubt I'm ever going to see, let alone use marijuana in my lifetime. But if ever I needed a way to calm down and forget, given the choice between marijuana and alcohol I'd gladly go for the former. It seems to me to be the healthier choice.
