There are a number of studies which find that it isn't anywhere as addictive as Nicotine, and that it's less likely to cause cancer than smoking tobacco.

However, it's still inhaling burning substances which is never going to be good for you.
And it is very much the case that most cannabis on the streets is mixed with tobacco (and sometimes other substances not intended for smoking at all), so you're just as likely to have all the health risks.

When people say that Cannabis isn't as harmful, that's smoking pure cannabis. Which you will not find on the streets, since it costs too much.

Scare tactics is what causes people to do things people have been scaring them into not doing. Same thing with lying, it is better for someone to educate themselves and make a educated decision on whether or not to consume marijuana. Teen tobacco use has gone down and marijuana use has gone up because of the honest education involving tobacco and the lies and scare tactics involved with marijuana
