Looks fun. I end up going on long walks anyway so this will be something else to do

I wonder how meeting other players might work and if that would happen much.

In your country it probably would happen much. One person, in the comments, had explicitly stated that a single area can have several 'portals' all within a few blocks of each other.

If it comes to capturing though, I believe the person who hacks last wins. It'll just be a fight of endurance until one of you runs out of phone batteries or leaves.

Google's New MMO Ingress reaps its first victim!

Tension between the two factions, the Enlightened and the Resistance, have reached a breaking point.
Just today, blood has been shed as rival players strove to capture a particularly high level spot, allegedly 'forcing' the hand of the Resistance player, driving him to pull a gun against his opponent and shoot him.
Google has yet to comment on this incident, but the future looks bleak for all as it seems like the world is on the brink of war.

Will we still see tomorrow? Will our future be any brighter after today? All we can do now is wait and hope for the best.

All joking aside, I don't think anyone would be that desperate.
