Author Topic: Comparing PC Gaming to Console Gaming  (Read 2542 times)

I play video games a lot. Like pretty much everyone else in the world, But I always wondered about
which kind of game, PC games, or console games. So I decided to make a video using Windows Movie Maker,
but I didn't want to so I just decided to make a forum post.

So let's say I went on the Treyarch website about to get Call of Duty Black Ops II, and I looked at PC,
Then the confusing info...

Hey do you have 1 GB of RAM usable and DirectX 11? If not then [meow] off!

and then I look at the console info saying:

Hey, do you have a couple of KB left, if so buy the game and be happy!

Then there are the addicting PC games, like HL2 and Garry's Mod, and maybe even Natural Selection 2, but if
you have a bad computer, than you are sad... However, if you have good things but you have Windows Vista,
then you will run Portal 2 and it will go:
NO! YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY PORTAL 2 [BSOD]

But in some reasons, PC Gaming is better, Like for instance, if you have a good CPU, You
will be more satisfied than with console, and most PC Games are better period, like, The Sims 3, on console,
it'd last 2 hours, but later you will be unsatisfied, and then you get PC and it's funner. (<-- proper word)

For horror games, it's better because you are closer to the screen and you are more prone to the scary stuff,
or jump-scares. You can't port games like Blockland to the Xbox 360 or PS3 because of the low amount of buttons, because the Keyboard has about, i dunno, 40 buttons more than the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Minecraft is better on PC over the Xbox 360 edition because it was made before and is just plain better.

Yes, it's sad that a game like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Plagiarism was not on PC, but
that does NOT mean you have to emulate it to the PC, Emulation is bad, you aren't giving support
to it's developers, unless you had an old copy and it doesn't work, because I bought the game on my Wii
and later I emulated it on my PC.

And yes, there are those LOVELY torrents, Those are also awful, in case you don't know what it is...

Random Guy: Hey look,  Assassin's Creed III came out! I'm going to buy it, take out all the files, and put it on some website that Ubisoft will never find! (Derp face)

That's a summary, it's only good on games like Daggerfall because that game is already sold on Bethesda's
website for free, and the DosBOX fuss is [meow]ing difficult.

I will update this later

PC will always be better than consoles

PC will always be better than consoles
Computers cost more to buy and maintain, while a console is cheaper and easier to use. A good gamer has both.

the majority of this forum are PC gamers, this thread serves no purpose really

stop having a stuffty computer then.  anyone who is a console peasant will always complain about how their stuffty $300 dell inspiron doesn't run the newest games or w/e.  no stuff, it's old outdated hardware and even when it was first made it was stuffty.

we all know the pros and cons of pc/console gaming.  we don't need a self-acclaimed expert, sorry OP.

PC gaming is better in most cases. Some games are better suited for consoles, like TimeSplitters or Metal Gear Solid.

While I will agree that PC offers more for dedicated, serious gamers, and in most cases outperforms consoles.

I will not say that consoles are bad. Just because PC is good doesn't mean consoles are bad. They still play games. They're still fun.

Ignorance is not an argument OP. Just because you can't understand simple requirements about your computer does not change the fact that you can have an all around better experience on a PC.

Other then money and friends, there is really no reason a console is better then a PC. Even those reasons can be worked around.

For easy local multiplayer, consoles are hard to beat.

Computers are like swiss army knives, they can do anything. Even make the games consoles play.

I have and use both frequently. Still think PC's are superior.

PC will always be better because you can constantly upgrade a PC unlike a console.

can you please explain this

i feel like you're just making a jontron reference without completely understanding what it means or something

and even if you did understand how could it POSSIBLY apply here

i think a rant on ocarina of time would be better than one on this tired old subject anyway

also:

beginning your post with something like this really makes the measure of your resolve appear a lot smaller and it's bad if you want to establish credibility

i think buying a console would be cheaper in the long run. to run most high end console games you need a pretty nice PC, which is pretty expensive. meanwhile i can get a $150 fully functioning ps3 that can run any game for that console. not to mention consoles have offline co-op playability, while 99% of PC games dont, and those that do you need like an extra keyboard or a bluetooth controller or something.

I guess one good thing is that computers (albeit more expensive) are more powerful than consoles. But for me it comes down to the controls. I hate the controls on consoles. Hell, I can hardly stand watching videos of people playing Xbox games. It's so damn jerky and imprecise. But computers have more buttons and a much more precise control scheme. As well as a much larger selection of games I think that without a doubt PCs are better.

PCs tend to have much better hardware, albeit for a higher price. Nothing, however, is free, and a Lamborghini Aventador is probably a whole lot more expensive than a 2002 Volvo. While consoles are occasionally cheaper, they are a tad limited in their purpose, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Okay play games and... Play more games. Not to mention that most consoles of the current generation have seven year old hardware, meaning you could easily get better specs on a PC. There's also the whole argument of games can look nicer on a powerful enough PC. Take, for example, Crysis. This was a PC exclusive and only was ported to the X-Box when the console version was downgraded to look a tad less pretty (again, correct me if I'm wrong)
