Author Topic: Spore won't run on my computer  (Read 1007 times)

I just bought it, and when I try to open it, it goes fullscreen black, and after a few seconds closes and windows says "A problem with the program caused it to close"

I personally think Spore was kind of a candle in the wind. It was amazing when it first came out, but after the first playthrough it just got extremely boring. You'd be much better off just getting a demo if there's one available.

I have win7 and it works for me, I love the game, but I guess I'm a little more of the do whatever the forget you want kinda gamer( Hint hint, it's free roam) And I got my copy for only $10.

If you're going to get it, at least get Galactic Adventures with it too, because the game becomes dull after a while unless you have the GA expansion pack.

even GA gets dull quickly

also the community is pretty dead, so dont expect much new stuff

It's not like there's a multiplayer for the game, all people could do was make creations, and share them. I personally liked just making my own.

Get it, but also get the expansion packs.  The community being dead doesn't mean stuff.  It's a single player game anyway.

Honestly it all depends on what you want really, You can start off in the cell stage and eventually reach the space stage, The game to an extent allows you to lead your empire somewhat of how you want to, It all depends on what features you want, You can advance in the game on your quest to sentience, Before buying it i suggest you try looking at more information for the game before you decide to get it, You may or may not like it, In later stages there is features such as the vehicle creator and building creators and various other's, Hopefully you make the decision you feel is best and enjoy reviewing spore.

10 bucks seems like a good price for it. I had fun playing it.

I don't see why not, I still go back maybe once a year to play around.

Maybe you could watch a bit of a let's play to decide?
