Tap water contains large amounts of dihydrogen monoxide, which is known to be deadly when consumed in large quantities and can also corrode different substances.

do other people around you drink it?

Treated or not, whatever you guys do, never use a neti pot or irrigate your sinuses with tap water.

Use distilled water.

I remember this from my 7th grade science class.

Spring water is the best, I live near a spring that has the coldest and freshest water, the water is freezing even during a 100+ Degree day (Fahrenheit) the water is around 30-40 degree's.

Bottled water is the world's largest ripoff.
Water comes from you tap for free.

Buy a filter regardless

There is also the risk of things such as amoebiasis and primary amoebic meningoencephalitis due to amoebas getting inside the nose from tap water infestation.

thats a joke right
In his defense, the amount of water you'll drink on a monthly basis using tap water will have a negligible effect on your bill.

You probably expend more water flushing your toilet than you do drinking in a day.

And I mean that all springs (unless its a polluted one) are the freshest/purest, not just the ones around here.
