There is also the risk of things such as amoebiasis and primary amoebic meningoencephalitis due to amoebas getting inside the nose from tap water.
Actually no, it's virtually impossible to get meningoencephalitis from drinking tap water.

...irrigating your nostrils with it however, may pose a larger risk.

In his defense, the amount of water you'll drink on a monthly basis using tap water will have a negligible effect on your bill.

You probably expend more water flushing your toilet than you do drinking in a day.
toilets = the cost of all water taxes

Of course it's safe to drink. Why on Earth wouldn't it be unless you live some place terrible?

I had a real bad craving for water when I had the flu, why is this?

Water is vital to survival, and is one of the best things you can ingest when you're sick.

During osmosis they put chemicals and stuff in it?!

I'm not sure you know what osmosis is.

Of course it does, As for instance one species travels through certain nerves in the nose to eat its way up to the brain.

I'm not sure you know what osmosis is.

I learned it in science one time when learning about water treatment. I think I might be thinking of another word.

You are. Osmosis is the movement of water across a cellular membrane to an area of high saturation.

During my time working in the water treatment department in my town, I saw the dark side to public water systems. Every month we have over 43,000 tons of chemicals shipped in from different facilities across the countries. Almost all of the chemicals are considered safe to consume by the FDA, in small quantities which they certainly are when mixed with the large quantities of water, but their effects when mixed are widely unknown.

Some of the chemicals included are often found in the process of galvanization of metals, as well as bonding agents from glue brands such as Elmers, which seems pretty odd considering those are considered extremely toxic.

Of course, it wouldn't cause any heavy metal poisoning or leech the bonding agents like the chemicals normally do, which causes death unless treated immediately. So you should most likely be fine.

Sure you could be poisoned by it, no matter how slim the chances.

But why take the risk? Stop buying soda and start looking for PURIFIED bottled water on sale. Compromise.

You might be thinking of "reverse osmosis", which is a process used to purify water.

saturation of what?

You really shouldn't say that because all you are doing is fear-mongering.

This is literally brown townogous to saying, "Lye is involved in the process of soap-making, and lye is a highly caustic substance. Keep your kids away from soap!".

Tap water is already filtered. Americans just feel the need to filter it a second time.

Even though it is filtered that doesn't mean there isn't any dangerous organisms still inside the water.
