Author Topic: A better curse word filter.  (Read 3821 times)

Im going to block you mother blocker..

That son of a block!

What a brick...

A curse world filter is essentially useless since there are so many alterations to curses...

like fuuck or SHlT

Censorship is like denying a man a steak because a baby cannot chew it.
So this man wants to eat a moldy steak but the baby is too smart to want it?

To be fair I made a word replacer addon a long time ago.

this has nothing to do with the topic

I've found that if the filter is server-side, then people will always find ways to get past it.
But if a filter is client-side and optional, people who don't want it won't use it, and then won't bother typing in a way that bypasses it.

it's actually bobba, but yeah.

this is a bit off topic here, but in habbo, it's extremely annoying because they have an option to shut off the filter, yet it doesn't work and it just stays on.

Curse filter is stupid in the first place.  If you don't want to read curse words play singleplayer

this post is dumb, mang

You keep your filter off and other people keep it on. That's like saying driving with your windows down/ac on is stupid and if you dont want to be hot, stay at home.

if every swear word was replaced to block in the script, does this make blockland forgetland
It already is :O

Might wanna ask reinforcements he had one in his erver it did the same but with random words ecept Ex: if you said any word with hell in it Ex: hello becomes chego (yes he used that) but anyways /support.

You should give up on this. Usenet tried very hard to censor a lot of words they didnt like and people started coining the earliest examples of l33tspeak in order to get past the censor.

The censorship effort was futile, and it gave birth to l33tspeak.
