Minecraft isn't even a voxel renderer. It's just blocky 3D.
...what

Disappointing and confusing.

They're saying Minecraft doesn't use a voxel engine, which it doesn't. It uses OpenGL to render pseudovoxels.

Minecraft players are loving handicapped little skids who think everything is a rip off of minestuffrichards.
rude

I like how they're accusing Blockland of being a copy Minecraft, when Minecraft itself is also a copy.

It is? What the hell is Minecraft a Copy of?

minecraft is a clone of infiniminer, but no one seems mad about that.

...Minecraft players seem to have no brain at all...well..most of them.

It is? What the hell is Minecraft a Copy of?

Ignoring the survival part of the game, the actual building system and general world design has been done to death in a number of "block construction games". I remember in 2007 kids would make block building worlds in Game Maker to learn how to program.

There's a fine line between building with legos and building with ambiguous cubes and triangles. Saying Blockscape is a Minecraft clone isn't the same as saying Blockland is a Minecraft clone at all. It's awfully hypocritical of me to say this but there is truth to it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with reusing concepts, because at this point in history nothing is really original anymore anyway.

This makes me want to slap those minecrafters senseless.

What a load of bullstuff. How does Yogventures get greenlit and blockland gets spammed by forgettards saying "umg itz a mienzcrft cl0n3 l0l0l0l0l"
Because Yogventures was not voted in by the idiots who go around complaining that anything vaguely similar to Minecraft is a clone.

Yogventures was greenlit by the tens of thousands of Yogscast fans who went and voted for it because they were told to by the Yogscast.
You can't discredit them this. They had a massive fanbase much bigger than ours and they used it to get votes.
We do the exact same thing when Badspot puts links on the Blockland website and in-game. But in our case there is a much smaller amount of members of Blockland compared to fans of the Yogscast.

Yogventures got in legitimately. We will get in legitimately.

Two words:

False Advertising

People may be disappointed because terrain is gone but the trailers up currently have terrain in them.
That is not our problem.
No one goes onto the Blockland page on Steam Greenlight and goes "Oh, look, a giant Bedroom and some terrains to play in."
That is not what we are advertising.
We are advertising Blockland, the lego-style block-building game, in which you place blocks to make structures and then play in them.

There won't be a single person who thinks that they've been ripped off because they don't have terrains when they buy the game.

The only reason people here think that is because you've all already played around with terrains before and associate it as a big part of your previous Blockland experience.

People watching the videos haven't had a Blockland experience before, and whatever they think is the experience, it's certainly not going to rely on the presence of terrains and interiors.

If anyone even notices that we don't have terrain/interiors anymore then they've gone and purchased the game to see so. In which case what does it matter. We've made the $20 from them already.
And if after that they still think that they shouldn't Up-vote us on Steam then they obviously didn't enjoy what Blockland had to offer or they really bought Blockland for the wrong reasons. In which case they were never likely to Up-vote us.

This makes me want to slap those minecrafters senseless.
Blaming Minecraft players and Roblox players is not going to get us anywhere.

How many people who have posted in this topic complaining have actually gone and voted for Blockland? If you're so passionate about defending Blockland and getting it on Steam then the argument of "Oh, I need to purchase a game first" shouldn't put you off. Go grab a cheap little thing and then vote.

If you all really want to get us on Steam then you need to help push the game.
Advertise it on other Forums. Reccommend it to your friends. Post it on your Facebook or your Twitter or your Tumblr or whatever. Link/Reccommend it in your YouTube videos.
Even making sure that you and a single friend votes for it is a good help.

They don't just choose games that have the absolute highest amount of votes. They also choose those with the greatest rate of votes.
If you can help stir more votes up then that's all the better.
We don't need millions of votes. We just need bunches in a short amount of time.
