Author Topic: RTB Dedicated Hosting Service - Service Closing  (Read 361978 times)

The prints are the default prints and my own modter window prints which I have packaged correctly. I've tested them in singleplayer and my own server and they run fine.

Please raise a ticket. Support is not provided in this thread.

What? Of course I'm enabling them on the panel.
Try using FTP to enable them in the .txt file?

Did all the RTB servers just go down, or is it just me.

Edit: well their back up now
Edit2: and down again

Yeah we're having problems too. I can't get a connection to Pecon's but Marioguy can. Aaaand he just timed out.

My server was stuck on Waiting for a few hours but it's fine now.

Wondering a bit about quotas. Is there a bit where you'd consider a server to be using "too much memory" or "too much CPU time"?

Hi guys - so obviously there are a few issues with the service at the moment. I'm on vacation at the moment but doing my best to try and look into things alongside Rub. As it stands, we're currently reasonably sure the root cause of these problems is a targeted attack against one of our nodes given the traffic trends over the past couple of days - which is unfortunate to say the least.

When you're dealing with these kinds of DOS attacks there's not a whole lot a small service like us can do to mitigate it however we are going to be looking at the source and type of the malicious traffic to see what we can do, and we'll also be making services on the nodes themselves more resilient to high incoming traffic so the service recovers faster and more effectively when the attacks subside.

Despite this being fairly out of control, we will be offering some compensation to our active customers to apologise for service outages and once the situation's all under control you'll be able to find details on that in this thread.

Thanks for your patience.

I haven't ever seen a hosting service be as generous as this. On Minecraft I know of many hosting services which have slow connections because of DDoS'ers, but they never compensate anyone.

There's no real quota for either, our nodes have 32GB RAM and peak usage is circa. 11GB so memory should never be a concern. CPU is a little more limited but again, you shouldn't worry about it. We'll address any concerns with servers continuously using a lot of CPU time as it potentially impacts the performance of other servers, but we're very flexible.

What's the point of DDOSing RTB?! You gain NOTHING!

Er, none of the autosaves are working. When I try and load them up, it just plays the loading animation but never gets anywhere.
