the first build was kinda better but ok

motherboard on the first was fine, cooler is decent, cpu decent. this seems like purely a gaming build so 8gb of ram would be better, and at least not vengeance pro which is overpriced as hell. for the ssd, get 840 evo. way cheaper but still great performance. both of the builds used old models of western digital black, use the newest models. case kinda weird, I suggest nzxt h440 instead. 760w of power is too much, get cheaper 600 or 650w psu

Made some of the changes you said, here's what I got.

Also I kept the case because I have the same one and it's really good, has a ton of space, SSD mounts, and really good air flow.

h440 has all of that, psu shroud, room for 360mm water coolers, and its cheaper. also a giant side windows. imo its better

On another note, why not go with an i7? If you're blowing 2k, why not take advantage of that new architecture for when more things start to support it?

That is a petty nice case, I was thinking of another one when you mentioned it, my fault.

I added it, but it's not listed on part picker so I had to add it as a custom part.

All the i7 has is hyper-threading, from my understanding no games utilize it, spending the extra $100 is useless.

here is my revised edit, with i7, better hard drive, motherboard, cheaper ram, case, psu is 850w which is enough for a sli upgrade in the future

exactly 2000 after rebates

It really is more a matter of preference about what components you wood add to a 780 ti

Personally, I would go for something closer to glass' build but with an i7-4770k and maybe the storage configuration a little different

This would honestly be a lot better if Tetris gave us a budget.

No.

I think Newegg is far better of a place to actually find parts, as long as you know what you're doing.

However all these links are giving me a 404.

you can set pcpartpicker to only use certain distributors (like only newegg) and only from certain countries (like canada)

plus I get a quick overview of each part so its just easier, and better
I hate many tabs, pcpartpicker is a great tool

This.

Newegg's sort features are a lot more usable in my opinion. It's also generally got a very good repository of credible reviews, so it's easy to find the most reliable product among a selection just be sorting by best rating. pcpartpicker doesn't seem to collect reviews from newegg.

I just click the part and it brings me to newegg so I can read it...
