apu? i'm assuming you mean the processor. what about the gpu?

Hey, so I need a gaming laptop. I need something with good battery life and reasonable weight.
I'd prefer nothing too far upwards of ~2000.

An option, 7870m is incredibly good.

An potentially better option in terms of graphics, downstep in terms of CPU, but it is cheaper and an MSI laptop.

An APU basically integrates a graphical chip inside of the processor, it's worked very well for budget laptops.
That will run Blockland about 30fps medium settings with the GPU on board, it's a 6570 or similar.

oh ok. i got ya.

i'm probably not even gonna buy it but w/e. how much cheaper do you think laptops will get by early july?  i'm gonna ask for a $500 or less laptop

If you're looking to game, you probably won't find a great one for the price. My laptop was around $600 and was amazing for the price. I'd recommend you surf newegg a bunch leading up to when you have the money.
Currently, the least expensive but best laptop I could find is this

It might go out of stock in a few months, but there will definitely be better laptops out by then. It really varies a lot.

Looks interesting. I'll check to see how much I can save up. If I can hit $2k, then I'll go for something more expensive.

I've been procrastinating on my problem due to being busy with work and school; now that I'm on spring break I'm going to try and fix it.

open the start menu

right click computer

click manage

under the storage bar in the left side of the window there's disk management, click that.

you should see your harddrive there and it should be completely free space unless you've partitioned it already (or unless i'm dumb)
go ahead and create a partition on that free space, windows should let you do it.
This makes it show up in Windows, but this doesn't really help my intention; I'm still getting the same issue when I add it to the RAID.

Depending on the order I add the two drives, it'll either say "BOOTMGR missing" or something along the lines of "Invalid boot device, insert proper boot media into selected device, and press any key"
I've replaced a hard drive in my raid before, I just popped it in, made the array, marked it for rebuild, and everything worked fine. I'm doing the same thing this time and it doesn't work.

Is this a good deal for a bundle?
http://www.dabs.com/products/gigabyte-pre-assembled-gamer-bundle--includes-z77-hd3--intel-core-i5-3570k---8gb-vengeance-lp-black--8HJF.html?src=2
It's about a £30 difference if you build it yourself, so I guess it isn't too bad. Buying those bundles is a stupid idea though, since you can spend 5 minutes doing it yourself.

But putting the ram into the mobo is the easiest thing to assemble
And the CPU is really easy too, you really should pay more than the raw parts cost

the only 2 confusing things in computer assembly is trying to install a new cpu fan and trying to hide all those psu wires

At Pax, there was a computer building contest, first and second place times were roughly six and eight minutes.

It took me like 3 hours lol

That's incredible
Is there a video we can watch?
