Hey guys I heard you all liked lots of RAM and CPUs so...

Turns out I didn't have the power cable all the way in. I fixed that problem, booted it up, computer found it. I ran their program to format it. I do have one thing, though:

I've not put anything on it yet. Every now and then, I hear a strange noise, like... a noise I don't like, but I don't understand. As I was typing this, I decided to test it. I made a text file in it, it made a tiny noise. Messed around typing in it and saving, no sound. I dumped a 12 MB file in it, instantly appeared without a sound. Whatever that noise is isn't directly related to writing data, apparently. Is it just normal? Or did I break something else fumbling with my tower...

Edit: It made a noise again. It was like dun-dun dun-dun, but more... needles on a wobbling record...? I might be exaggerating, but it is randomly making noises when I least expect it. Otherwise it's silent.

is it possible to run one monitor on integrated graphics with another on a card?

Usually a hard drive making sounds is bad news...Are you sure the hard drive is secured well? It could be wobbling when you bump your desk or something

Although I'm no expert on hard drives but I'm sure someone else in this topic is

I'm thinking about buying this build really soon.  Is there anything wrong with it?

Not unless you have an AMD CPU and an AMD card of the same series, at which point you could do crossfire or Crossfire+

bummer. i guess i need an adapter.

Why can't you run 2 monitors off one card?

He wants to get best performance from his dedicated card and run a secondary and less important monitor off integrated.
That's my thinking anyways

In the case I'm right, just run them off your dedicated

i would need to buy a gender changer (and i already bought two adapters i thought i needed) but i dont want to.

What? How exactly are you going about this?

My case has clips instead of screw holes, and only on one side. :U but things are pretty secure with those...

Some of the cheaper toolless drive bays are kind of crappy. It's probably to blame for your problem. If your hdd is failing theres no way to fix it but rma it.

All my other equipment has lasted over a year and a half perfectly fine.

Edit: I decided to dump a bunch of files on it to test, and I heard the drive spin up suddenly. It's empty otherwise.

Edit2: It making noises when used seems inconsistent. I can make it make noise sometimes when when I use it, but I just put a 371MB Photoshop file onto it and no sound.

It just made a whine noise which I mistook as my cat having a bad dream. That was relatively loud. I'm not even interesting with the drive, so I'm not sure what's happening. It isn't a constant or anything.
