Is there any way I can hook up an xbox to my computer/monitor? It would be nice being able to switch between the two... Also, it would be cool if you could screen capture this way, as in the xbox is projected on a program and fraps can record it. Sounds odd, I know

So I put in a hard drive from my old computer...

Would it be possible to merge the recovery into the drive, as I do not need a second recovery "drive"?
Yes. Repartition it.

Yeah, I think the best $300 might get you in a laptop is a Pentium Dual-Core and Intel HD Graphics 3000 with a 250GB HDD.
I got my Samsung 16 inch laptop with an i3 at 2.4 GHZ, 8 gigs ram(I upgraded from 4 gigs that came standard), Intel HD 3000 and 350GB HDD all for 368$.

I got a raging nerdboner when I saw that AMD card

I hate the linux circle jerk. Linux doesn't do what most people want, which is play games. Then you go "OH BUT YOU CAN USE WHINE", most people would rather just install the game. Linux is a much greater pain compared to just using windows and having everything work.

My thoughts exactly

I agree it is not for playing games. But it makes a great secondary OS because it has loads of awesome tools. But if you never play games or use Windows/Mac only software then it rocks.

Try out a different distro? Linux is a pain to use until you get used to it. Even though I use it I prefer windows over anything. Try getting LXDE it use's less resourses and has an start menu. Though the start menu is meh try finding out to change it or something.

Only reason Linux is better then windows is that it is super hard to hack and uses less resources.

Lol. The only reason any operating system is "hackable" is because people put a lot of effort into doing so. If Linux was as common as Windows it would be just as "easy" to "hack."

I can't imagine what percentage of computers linux is on, must be smaller than 1%.
