how bad is this. I'm guessing this is where my Intel HD 3000 is. I am sending in the laptop soon but how safe is this thing? I have a cooling pad on it all the time. I have had it since Christmas. I'm hoping this thing doesn't die until 2015-2016. It is a Toshiba. If it is hard to see it's a big black burn mark about 2 in long and under an inch tall.

Alright, thanks guys.

I might trade out that CPU though, whats another CPU I can have instead of that one and still not go over my limit?
(keep in mind that I don't get taxed but the finalized showings are with tax)

You can go for an AMD FX 4000 series which is the same price and supports your motherboard. AM3+

Are you sure that's a burn and not just the plastic paint wearing off from your hand? Also the CPU/HD3000 is located somewhere in the middle under the keyboard, that black spot is near the HDD I'm guessing. That's how mine is.

You can open it up and check to see if anything is short circuiting or heating up, HDD/Ram modules get extremely hot. Usually they are the culprit behind laptop overheating and not the CPU/GPU.

hm

if i win the stamp collecting thing at McDonalds and get $20,000, will a AMD ATI Radeon HD 7750 card and 8 GB of ram be good? I forgot the processor sadly.

You can get an HD 7770 which is the same price but better.

Im looking into building a computer for my mom. Price isn't terribly a problem, although it would be incredibly nice to keep it under $1000. I say this because I dont need a super powerful computer. I just need one that has a Micro-ATX board (and will fit in this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147166). I dont need a GPU (and iirc a lot of the new processors have on-board GPU's), but I would like a fast processor (and I was wondering about the performance of the new Haswell Intel series). If you guys could recommend me some boards or processors that would be awesome. And no, I'm not getting anything bigger, I want to get her a Micro-ATX.

It depends what she does on computers.

Hm. I never use the trackpad on my comp. I may have a few times. I always use an external mouse.

I'm thinking of selling my spare computer on craigslist. It has a 6770 and and amd phenom II x4 965 with a corsair h70. I'm thinking of selling it for like 500 with a 23" monitor for an extra 100. I think it's a pretty fair price since it's a rather decent gaming pc and way better than most computers at that price on craigslist.

She just wants something with really good processing power, I can handle the rest. I just need CPU suggestions, preferably Intel.

Just got scammed off a PSU on ebay :"D

What happened lol
Never shipped, can't get a hold of seller :c
I just filed report with ebay, and my rig was almost done :"C
