can someone recommend me some servers? they need to have 500GB space each, 4GB of RAM and a decent processor. I need to order quite a few so I'm counting on them not being extremely expensive.

you could get a bunch of dell poweredge servers

pretty cheap for a server. they usually go around 1000+(a server that is, not these specific models). only downside is that sometimes they dont include an os, so if you dont have money for a windows copy, regular or server version, you can just install some linux and use that

If your computer isn't recognizing the device, try a reboot.
If a reboot doesn't work, try a different computer or operating system.
If neither work, your stuff is dead.
I assume you already went through these steps?
I haven't tried it on another computer since we don't have another, aside from my dads laptop. When I uninstalled the driver it reinstalled it when I plugged it in. But the PC is acting like it was never plugged in.

The cable's probably dead. Buy a new one already omfg.

Do you not read, we are working on getting the WiFi adapter working. I can't rule it being the ethernet cord or if its a problem with the ethernet card.

i might get some money soon. a few hundred bucks. i want to upgrade my case and my psu. currently i have a xfx 650w for my psu. very good brand, considered one of the most quality psu's buts its just so loud, and its not modular. really pissing me off. 650w is a bad value since its overkill for one video card but really risky for 2 high-end cards. it sells at 70 on ebay used, so thats a plus. my case is a rosewill challenger, horrible case, no room for cable management, the fans are loud. it looks just...ok. not too good but not bad. i probably won't sell it, its too big.

so im looking for a 750-850w psu thats decent, preferably gold rated and modular. and a nice case. i want this whole ordeal to cost under 250. thinking about the NZXT H440 for the case, looks great. but open to suggestions.
also probably looking for a cpu cooler upgrade too. my hyper 212 evo is nice, but again, the slight noise is driving me mad. i heard great things about noctua and the Noctua NH-D14 looks decent. its the quietest fan cooler i've seen, and it looks like it can take a nice overclock. suggestions?

definitely decided on a H440. looks too lovey. i can't pass it. and its noise insulating, forget my ass if i don't get it
for the psu, i currently got my eyes on the corsair RM 750W. low-noise, 750w enough for 2 cards and overclocking, gold rated, and modular. i know corsair is a popular brand but how does it stand up to other psu brands?
for the cooler, im probably going to go with the nh-d14. although i would've preferred the look of a water cooler, the last time i got anywhere near them (*corsair h60*) i was extremely disappointed by fan noise and temperatures. don't know

They are all good choices, you're not going to go wrong with corsair or noctua if hit already checked out all of the specs

try a different operating system.
Go download Linux or something and try again. Windows is terrible for trying to debug anything with it's stock kernel.

after assistance from /r/hardware, I finally decided on the corsair AX760W AX860W psu. higher quality than the RM750, and not too much more expensive. the cooler is definitely going to be that noctua, it completely outperforms the high-end water coolers

I would but I don't want to re install my OS. I'll get the other PC(it was made for windows 98) up  and running some time and install Linux on it

you don't need too.....

you don't need too.....
Than how would I test it with Linux? (implying that I didn't have another computer to install it on)
And don't say duel boot, I'd rather not mess with that.

dual boot

but instead of installing linux, you can use their try before install feature.

You do this every loving time.
You ask for help on doing something and then instantly cut yourself off from a solution you know of for no loving reason at all. Either stop being such a twat or just let us tell you what you should do, it's a wonder that anyone still bothers to respond to your issues in this thread
