What do you guys think of buying a Raspberry Pi, upgrading it with some RAM sticks laying around, and then running a Minecraft server on it?
Minecraft can get boring pretty quickly. Just rent a server for a few dollars a month. Unless you plan on having this server up for a long time you should rent.

I have this happen every so often when alt-tabbing around games.

It seems to happen the most when I'm either using google chrome or downloading games off steam.

um you can't upgrade RAM on a raspberry pi. It's a single board system, and it's smaller than a stick of ram anyway. You get 512MB of RAM on the model B. That's it.

My dad and I stayed up until 12:45 putting my computer together. We still need to plug some stuff in but everything is mounted correctly as far as I know

What?

I wasn't confused, it was interjective ("Say whaaat!?") Could I build my own single board system with cheap parts and some RAM?

If all you want is a minecraft server, just use http://www.freeminecrafthosting.org , I'm not too sure how it works though.

I was trying to sell off a 650w gold rated Evga power supply. High end stuff.
Near new. An 80 dollar piece for like a 10 dollar steam game.

And everyone ignored me in several comp topics.

Now I see everyone discussing psu shopping they need to do.
Jesus
I would buy it if I needed one, but I do not

Unrelated: I'm probably going to get the surface 3 pro for college next year,  but hopefully Microsoft will start bundling the keyboard so I don't have to pay $130 extra for an integral component

It was going to be heavily modded on a custom pack. I don't know if that site supports mods.
EDIT: Screw that bullstuff, it requires you to fill out a free virus download survey.

So, I guess we're back at building a computer. Is it possible to get a really cheap, stuffty, easily upgradable one for under $100? Like a Raspberry Pi, but you can actually exchange parts.

depending on your spec requirements you could search around for a motherboard/CPU combo with integrated graphics

pi's have their uses.
basic home computing is not one of them.

Damn last edit.

Should I get this? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YQsw7P
I already have a mouse and I will save up for a better keyboard, monitor, and maybe SLI the GTX 660 in the future.
