Just noticed the new 5k i7's are actually hexacores now (and octa). Pretty high TDP though.
That's nice because hyperthreading isn't always going to get the job done.

I accidentally spilled a little bit of coke on my mechanical keyboard. At first I thought none got in since I only spilt a tiny bit on the right side of it but I guess a little bit got into the side near the jump as because none of my keys worked after. I tried turning off my computer and disconnecting my keyboard and reconnecting it and now it sorta works but the t key won't work and the d key only works half the time. The spill was no were near those keys and I got hardly any coke in it. Please help
take your keys off and get some wet wipes and wipe the stuff out of it

unplugged of course

Though it wont be needed for quite some time, but with everything, sooner or later stuff like that will become the standard for "ok"
 builds.

So my computer crashed (Blue Screened) twice in the last 24 hours and I just checked the crash dump. Is there anyone that could tell me what the cause of it is? I have Windows 8.1.
Do you have Malwarebytes installed? It looks like a Malwarebytes issue, cause I bluescreened because of Malwarebytes yesterday too, but I fixed it.

If you do happen to have MBAM installed follow these steps
1) Download this program
2) http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_clean
3) First of all, take a note of your product key if you're using the paid/pro version.
4) Run it, follow the prompts and allow it to restart when prompted.
5) Once you've restarted download Malwarebytes from the website or from here.
6) Install MBAM and then enter in your product key if you have one.

You didn't know that? That's like the first thing anyone says about them

so im working on my moms laptop because she can't make it past the "starting windows" screen. i automatically assumed it was the hard drive failing. hard disk scan just fails at 9%, doesn't do anything. should i just buy a sata and win 7 and get it over with?

ugh jesus
I was gonna get windows from /r/softwareswap
but they're not allowed to sell microsoft products anymore :I
idk where else to get it without paying like $100 ;~;

G2A. But the prices are too absurd, even though many people said it's fine, I think it's relatively risky.

but they're not allowed to sell microsoft products anymore :I

Why?

Why?
apparently MSDN subscribers are not supposed to sell the keys they get to other people

Ok the keys are working now but now "a" types "ah" and "t" types "tga". Can I fix this or is my keyboard forgeted?

Edit: they got worse. Now they type "ah.01" and whatnot. It's only 3 or 4 keys. Do you think I need to wait longer for it to dry or is it too late and completely forgeted?

Normally if you get any sort of sticky liquid on your keyboard you have to unplug it and then start cleaning out the keys. Take some q-tips and some rubbing alchohol and start cleaning. What i did was soak the keys themselves in a little bit of warm soapy water.

But from the sounds of it, you neglected it for too long.

There's was nothing I could've done. I don't have any rice and I didn't have any rubbing alcohol. I just moved and it was the middle of the night and all the stores were closed. I tried unplugging it and blowing it out with a blow drier.
