Unless you're super attached to EVGA's 970, I'd fully recommend ASUS's OC card. I've been using it for what, maybe a month or two now. The thing is beautiful, both physically in the design and how it performs under load.

Alright, I think I'll go for the Asus because I heard some people having problems with the EVGA.

Dont even know if you want to save money, but if you can easily get a 4690k and save $100 easily.
You can cut out half of that RAM and you'll still be fine if your only gaming and not working on videos or images, plus you'll cut out another $90+.

That would bring the price down to $1519.31 Which can either be put into either a 240mm CPU cooler instead of the 120mm or a better SSD.

I definitely want the 4790k's performance over the 4690k.

I'll be working with full HD (and possibly 4k) videos. I also do a lot of heavy photo editing.

Well, i have the h100i and it barely makes any noise and my cpu rests at around 25 degrees constantly. And the noise is entirely dependent on the fans you get. Corsair has really good fans for that and the ones they give with their radiators are one of their best iirc.

Alright, I think I'll go for the Asus because I heard some people having problems with the EVGA.

I mean yeah, the EVGA ships better, but you should be able to overclock it yourself. Plus the difference between them is pretty small anyways.

Today I learned the horrors of spilling water over a mechanical keyboard; my Razer Blackwidow.
I think any key pressed like 4 others at a time.
I skinned it right now and everything seems to be working fine again (???) but I guess this is just placebo and will start happening again like tomorrow.
On the other hand I found out a skinned RBW looks pretty cool.

Any websites out there that offer modifiable pre-built rigs, that ship to canada?
Parents know I want computer, and asked me to put on xmas list. Unless someone knows of a good deal on another website that offers solid pre-made rigs, a customizable one would be nice.

I also know nothing about computers besides the fact that they're expensive, so the current budget range is about $1200 USD ($1375 CAD) (£770) if anyone can find the most efficient computer at said price, I would be eternally grateful.

Also if anyone is wondering about wanted performance, for example: "run battlefield 600fps", I would just be fine with something that can run anything at least above 30, but really, it's supposed to be gaming computer, make it as best as possible I guess :P. My only schtick is that the CPU must be quad-core with good performance.

usually you would hope for near 60fps on a computer. since all monitors will support at least that much. and its been the low standard for over a decade anyway.

Even if you know nothing about building one, doing your research and finally sitting down and putting a comp together is fulfilling as stuff.

I also know nothing about which components are considered good and which aren't, and the reason I'm looking for a custom made rig is I really don't want to build one of my own as of late. I know how to put one together, but it's not convenient for me, and I am willing to pay the extra dollar to have someone else do it, and have it covered in warranties.

My first computer could barely run RCT2 and a few hunting games I had. Like, maybe 10-15 FPS max.
My second could run Runescape at the same, and Blockland was an absolute nightmare with only 10k bricks or more. The last half of me owning this computer, I was also well into playing Playstation and my Xbox, since they were the only things powerful enough to play games nicely.
Now that my current PC is getting old, there isn't really much it can run at acceptable framerates without having everything dropped to low. Not that I mind.

Either way, I'm used to 30fps. I know 60 is the standard that everyone tries to shoot for at least, but I can still find a game perfectly playable at anything above 25.
