I'm getting the 980, and didn't do much research into the different models, I just pick whatever looks nicer (in other words, the EVGA models)

Should I probably consider a different model?

Well, i personally got the Asus 780 because it matched my color scheme and was the cheapest one.

Some have better airflow, while others are better for multiple displays. If you have 1 monitor, you don't need a 6GB card. You would only need a 2-4GB one, for example.

Do the research. It saves time later.

i tried to do a thing for ducky duck on a ~500 budget
any ideas on how to make this better but still staying around the same price?

I got a new computer a few months back, can't remember how much exactly but it was awhile back. I want to spend some Christmas money to upgrade it a bit, but I know next to nothing about parts and what is good and what is bad. Mainly looking at a video card that isn't just a part of an APU processor. Can anyone help me out here? My budget's not very high, with a <$100 limit.

Specs from "my computer" properties tab:

Processor:  AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics     (3.80 GHz)
RAM:         8.00 GB (7.19 GB usable)

Basically, I believe I need a video card to go beside my APU, but I don't know how I should go about picking one.

It's got a pretty large case and a pretty grand power supply, I believe. Currently looking into that.

I'm done. I'm loving done with AMD processors.

8 pages ago I made a post asking for help on getting a CPU off of it's heatsink after the processor miraculously popped out of the socket without any of the pins being bent.

So today I finally got the isopropyl alcohol and I soaked it for 5 minutes before going at it with dental floss and a twisting motion. No luck, so I soaked it again for 7 minutes and the exact same thing happened except I tried using a razor blade to see if I could get a start on a corner and finish with the dental floss. That didn't work so I soaked it for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes of soaking I take it out and do all of the above things again. About fed up with this stuff I try and twist the thing off using more force than one would usually use on a CPU. The loving think pops off, bounces off of my shoulder, and lands in the bowl of isopropyl alcohol pins-down. A small group of pins got bent from landing on a spacer I used to stop the heatsink from bending any pins while soaking.

I then used the razor blade to bend all the pins back into place 1 at a time by lining up the rows and straightening them up with the other pins in their rows. You almost can't tell which pins were bent. After a solid 30 minutes of tediously bending the pins back into place I put the processor and heatsink back into their boxes for another day. I don't even want to know if it works or not right now.

forget AMD for putting their pins on the processor and not on the motherboard.
forget AMD for not having their motherboard manufactures put better locking mechanisms in place to prevent this.

I'm not sure if this goes here but I need help.
On my computer, there's a C: drive (which I've been saving to) and a "Data (D:)" drive. The D drive has 537 GB on it, my C: drive has 372 GB.
Anyways, can I save to the D: drive? There's a lot of space on there and I'd sure like to use it. I've heard mixed answers of "no" and "yes"

Got my friends  Razer Blackwidow Ultimate today for $50. It's one of the older ones, so it's got blue LEDs and actual Cherry MX Blue switches. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

My family's gonna get annoyed by the noise though, lol.

I put the case back together and have decided I will just do some custom cut 90 degree brackets to support the PSU in the top of the case, and to as well remove the aluminum faceplate off the top and build a rectangular frame that will allow me to place the PSU into

To show the size of this case, I placed it next to my current case which is a Fractal Design Define R4
