I'm really mad now.
I don't have enough money to fix my stuffty ass CPU so i'm stuck with a PC that keeps loving rebooting every few hours.

are you sure its the CPU?

i remember my PC used to freeze, crash and reboot all the time, but it was because of the PSU

The PSU is completely fine, it's just that the CPU has really high temps at like 70 to sometimes 100C and the CPU usage is even worse.
My CPU is actually an A8-5600k APU (idk anything about apus so)

No wait, wrong thread, sorry.

So what are my chances of getting someone to help walk me through getting a good gaming desktop? I'd be willing to buy parts and take them to one of the computer shops in my area and have them build it but I'm not one to try and build it myself seeing as how it won't be cheap. I don't know anything about part compatibility, or what really will help me get the best bang for my buck in the areas that count. I want a computer where I can buy a game and not even look at the system requirements and still be able to run it on high or highest settings. Between running Steam games, I also use a lot of school programs (namely AutoCAD and Revit) where a quick computer would be nice. Wouldn't mind getting into video editing down the road. I don't want to spend any more than around $1000.

Anybody willing to help me out? Or is my best bet to just go talk to a computer shop about this?

Get an aftermarket cooler like a coolermaster. They only cost like $30 and are a ton more effective than the stock one. Might want to try that first if it seems like heat may be the issue.

it's really easy to put it together yourself. everything pretty much only fits in the one spot it belongs in, and everything else is clearly labeled. if they'll put it together for free, then I guess it's not unreasonable, but putting it together yourself will help you understand what's in it too, and you won't have to drive somewhere every time you wanna upgrade some part or add a hard drive or something

Make sure your CPU has adequate thermal paste.

I need a small form factor card, and this is all I could find.
Note that I don't have any space to add more ports or ventilation out to the side of the card, like you see in the card flush posted.

Just realized I only have 236 gb left on my 1TB drive

I barely download stuff and don't record that often, what would be taking up the space so much/ is there a way I can check

first question: i don't feel like getting a new mobo, so my question is: which is better, the pentium e6700 @ 3.2 GHz (dual core) or the Q6600 @ 2.4 GHZ (quad core)

they're pretty much the same to me, just a different amount of cores. which would be better? the minimum requirement for gta 5 is a q6600

second question: how does a gt 730 compare to a 9800 gt?

Windirstat can help with finding out what's taking up a lot of space.

already downloaded and it says I'm using generally 230~

maybe its just windows being an idiot or I'm reading it wrong

This a decent $600 budget rig?

Mod at will.

i have an answer for the first one

the quad core would most likely be more powerful in modern games
