you need a gpu to run games and anything else intensive

I guess you could play solitaire without a gpu

Okay as for monitors, I posted what I have right now as a computer, will that work as a monitor?

Probably? I'm not too sure

try googling the model number and looking to see if people have the same question

Should I put Windows 8 on my old rig?

CPU: AMD Phenon II (don't know exact model, but it's clocked at 3 GHz)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 (1333 MHz)
GPU: Geforce GTX 660 (ASUS)
Mobo: not sure, but it's either made by ASRock or ASUS
Storage: 1TB HDD, was planning to put in an SSD but it fell through

If I shouldn't do it, I'll just put it in my new rig (Ordering the parts NEXT WEEK :D).

how do you go about installing a new gpu? do you just uninstall the old gpu's drivers then install the new one's drivers?

i have a 760 (2g), brand new. just sitting around here. me and my roommate have no use for it XD.
we accidentally bought it thinking it was the 4g version so we could sli it with another in the media machine we have. but it was the smaller one x.x and no returns.
You should give it to me.

Good sale here for you budget people.
I may grab one for a low end media machine I have.
It's the superclocked version.

Its considered one of the (higher) mid end cards.

should I buy a liquid cooler for my amd fx 8350

or is there any really good coolers I can buy because stock is giving me Around 65 degrees Celsius when playing insurgency

currently on a 750, it runs a lot of things pretty well

i recommend it if you're looking for a card and have less than $200

I wish the 960 came out sooner

then I wouldn't have bought the 750 ti acx

still a good card though

i'm probably gonna buy the 960 next week, pretty excited for it :x

Recently came into some money.

I was wondering, what really matters in a motherboard ?

I was wondering, what really matters in a motherboard ?
1. A socket compatible with a chosen CPU
2. PCI slots for installing PCI equipment
3. Compatible cooling system
4. Enough RAM slots to fit a chosen amount of RAM
5. A compatible chipset / DMI for the processor
Im sure theres others, ill let them expand on the question

Reliability more than anything else. A nice power delivery system for overclocking, good on-board networking and good on-board audio are also nice to have. Other than those things it's down to preference in terms of appearance and requirements in terms of the available connections
