Software/Windows related question.

So, I got my SSD today and did a fresh install of Windows on it. Upon trying to activate it, I get a "blocked key" error. I tried the automated phone recovery system, but my installation ID was not found (probably because I bought my copy off of eBay instead of from a retailer). After calling tech support and getting India (go figure), I basically realized I'd need to re-purchase Windows. A sad day indeed.

UNLESS... Will cloning my current HDD to my SSD work? From a functional perspective, I know it will - what I'm concerned with is the 8.1 license carrying over. Or will it still make me re-activate the product, rendering my efforts fruitless?

Well, I now have to get a new hard drive. The bad sector on mine finally died, Windows is unbootable. When booting via flash drive I was able to see the information, it's all accessible. I'm replacing it very soon, however I will use it as a secondary drive if I can.

It should work as long as everything fits on the SSD, but I can't guarantee anything. Remember to disable scheduled defrags and enable TRIM once you're done, though.

I pulled the old LCD out of a 7-8 year old laptop and I'm planning on converting it to a more portable external display. Any ideas for framing and screen protection?

I wonder if there's going to be a 960 Ti. I feel like Nvidia needs something between the 960 and the 970...

Also, does Blockland run better on Nvidia than AMD?

Blockland doesn't use Nvidia Gameworks so no.

hit up a few estate sales and one of them had an old 386 with a turbo button and everything. i would've gotten it but it was beat up, missing screws, and i already spent my money on some tea stuff and a collectible sheep

I guess 4.4 GHz isn't stable for an FX 8320 :(
