I have an Intel Pentium 4 CPU, and I can not upgrade to a better one atm because of how stuffty the Mother board is.

My PC case is pretty big, I'm using the case for a Dell Dimension 8400 with completely different parts besides the Motherboard. And, well, everything works fine now.

What motherboard would you suggest I get, under $150, that I could use to replace the old one? I do not plan on reusing my IP4. And my GPU is fine for me considering it is able to run Just Cause 2 without skipping frames and it can move around without blur. But the CPU cant keep up and the controls/gameplay are lagging behind.

i'd suggest a new computer all together, or keep the GPU and put it in a new case with a new motherboard

You won't be able to re-use any Dell case because of how the power/LED connectors are, it's proprietary. Unless you want to work on re-wiring it, you'll be stuck not being able to boot it up if you replace the motherboard.

Unless you boot it from the mobo switch n the inside xd

We are approaching page 1000, people.

Or like, wire up a doorbell switch to it then hot-glue it onto the case

It'd really give it that authentic "dell" feel then

I was given a Dell Inspiron 6000, it will not boot up. I press the power button and it lights the numlock capslock and scroll lock buttons. I hold down FN while powering and it only lights the scroll lock light. After research I found that there is no documented code to it. There is no display either

I read that if the fan doesn't start up then the computer will shut its self down, the fan does not start up (unlike the disk drive) so this has me to believe that it is the fan at fault, I have already ordered a cheap replacement fan to test but I am unsure about it.
There is a special light code for a failed motherboard so I don't think that is it

You could probably just short the fan pins to make it think current is getting to the fan.

Any guide to doing this?

Because I'm sure he wants to run his CPU without a fan and fry it.

Try plugging the fan into a different fan header.

I'll see if there is another available spot, this is a laptop rather than a desktop.

anyone wanna buy a 500 gb 840 evo?

Just take the fan out and power it with two AA or AAA batteries or whatever, really. Just not too much power. That will tell you if the fan works or not
