I think AdBlock Plus's rules for non-intrusive advertising is the right path to more sustainable advertising in the future. Block-all ad blockers only serve to make advertisers more desperate and makes the experience ever worse for everyone who doesn't use an ad blocker.
For me, block-all is the only way to go because there have been dozens upon dozens of instances of advertisers letting malware into their advertising systems, including google advertising. There's not a single advertiser out there that I've found can be reliably trusted.

The problem with others like Normal Adblock or Adblock plus is they became sellouts and if an advert company is willing to pay up a little they let some ads slip for a while until you update your block lists.

They slip even when you have "allow non-obtrusive advertisements" disabled.

And considering most of the other adblockers are built off of adblock or adblock plus, that means they still do the cpu or ram hogging that came with it.

Ublock is built from the ground up and uses different algorithms for blocking ads, and thats what makes it have very little of an impact on ram or cpu usage compared to other adblockers.

Also porting plugins apparently can be done by just changing a bit of code, how that is possible I have no idea.

Because extensions are coded in JavaScript. All you need to do is change the addon format and sometimes change browser-specific functions.

I wouldn't be surprised if edge uses visual basic or something for it -________-

i use uBlock Origin which is by far the best

I did not know this, I might be confusing one subject with another but If I'm not mistaken aren't HTML5 extensions a thing?

You might be right considering Edge is a Universal Modern App.

Heres a snippet from an explanation of Universal Apps:
Quote
You can create UWP apps using the programming languages you're most familiar with, like C# or Visual Basic with XAML, JavaScript with HTML, or C++ with DirectX and/or Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML). You can even write components in one language and use them in an app that's written in another language.

UWP apps use the Windows Runtime, a native API built into the operating system. This API is implemented in C++ and supported in C#, Visual Basic, C++, and JavaScript in a way that feels natural for each language.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 provides a UWP app template for each language that lets you create a single project for all devices. When your work is finished, you can produce an app package and submit it to the Windows Store from within Visual Studio to get your app out to customers on any Windows 10 device.
Yeah I'm not sure anymore.

So I lost my windows 10 install due to some pretty embarrassing series of events that i would like to not say. I installed ubuntu and went with that for a week, and I want to switch back to windows 10.
My question is, since Im using an alienware laptop, it comes with an OEM key. Do I need the original Windows CD that came with my computer to use the key, or will a standard windows install ISO use it? I dont understand much of OEM, so help would be nice

alienware laptop
...
Why?

Anyways unless you can somehow recover the key on your prev os I think you have to buy another one

But im not sure.

...
Why?

Dont blame me, I was pretty impressionable when I got it. Either way, all in all until the incident I described it worked well

...
Why?
1:  not everyone picks their own computer
2:  not everyone knows the same about companies as you
3:  some prefer it regardless of information
4:  a good deal is enough to buy a product sometimes regardless of company history

im having an issue picking out what is the best possible mitx z170 mobo. And i need a x4pci m.2 on it. All 3 brands have good contenders at the top.

anyone have some good lga1155 processor recommendations? i have an i3-3220 atm and that's pretty much the last thing in my rig that i haven't gotten an upgrade of besides my mobo. I've got like $200 to spend

i cant even find i3's for 1155 anymore.

though are you just upgrading? that seems like spendy when it may be better to plan a new round of mobo/cpu/ram
