The ability to overclock isn't the only difference between the non-k model, and the k model.

The k model has a higher base clock, so it'll perform better.

Boost clock is exactly the same on both models. There's no real difference because if your CPU isn't running at full boost clock when it's needed then you've got bigger problems than the model of your processor. My i7 4790k, for example, runs at its full 4.4GHz boost clock all the time no matter what I am or am not doing

Oh, huh.
I have an i5-6600 myself and could've sworn it stuck to 3.3ghz, but it's actually at 3.7ghz right now.
Though I don't see anywhere else I could use the 30$ from dropping to a non-k model.
Besides, he might decide to overclock in the future, I'm not sure.

Oh boy, a pascal titan
And also a 1080ti but who cares about that when we are getting a new titan

interesting, hope these are actually OP as forget instead of some slightly better versions of the 1080.

Also used my i5/1070 setup for a few hours today with no driver crashes throughout Witcher/Beam NG Drive, so that's good atleast. Don't know why it was actually working though, but it was, so that's all that matters.

Yay laptop specs. They're pretty darn good but the graphics card bottlenecks the performance in gaming to the loving extreme.

that looks pretty ok, how does it perform?

About as good as a bottlenecked PC does. I have to run GTA V on the lowest settings I can to get decent frame-rate, BeamNG is very iffy, hell it can't even handle MC at full settings

At least it's ability to double task is amazing and I can record stuff with almost zero framerate drops

What
My GT825M has no problem at all and as far as I know a 740M is better

Try to update your drivers or something.

why does it say sli disabled
do you have sli 740ms in there and didn't know or does that always show up?

maybe I'll finally be able to use this new rig without issue, here's to hoping this new driver isn't broken also, will report back soon.
