How good would an MSI R9 380 4GB fair against games these days? The card is the one I'll be going with due to the amazing performance per dollar (which is priced at the 200 range, the hard limit)

I'll also be using an Intel G3258 OC'd at 4.3Ghz or 4.5Ghz as well, 8gb of ram too

I'll also be getting a 1080p monitor because that's all I'll need

Its alright. I would say if you wanted an amazing card for the price then you should get a GTX 1060. It does slightly go over your limit by $50, though.

I'd get it but I don't know if it'd fit in my case properly and the price as well. Plus the Red and Black one is like 380 bucks which would be way too high (I'm going to be using a red and black theme, my case I've chosen has a clear side panel too)

If I'd have the money I'd get it though

In fact I had that same situation play out in my head. "Will it fit my case?"
Good thing EVGA is boss and literally:

^^My card btw, works flawlessly

evga knows whats up
Also with 1 fan, the highest temp my card has been was 60 f under HEAVY load

If you see a 1060 for $300, you can get it cheaper
I assume you're talking about MSI's 1060 (it scored the highest benchmark out of all 1060s, so thats a thing)

Yes MSI's for the color scheme of the red and black, plus the card is still out of my price range (I have to get the entire setup (minus a desk and chair) for under 1000 and right now, the entire cost of everything adds up to just a tad under 1000)

Maybe sometime in the future after I get the card and need to upgrade, I will

wtf is so expensive? Those specs shouldn't equal to under $1000, also I'm assuming the monitor your buying is under $150

inh all these parts will be far surpassed by future releases, considering that you're planning literally one year ahead

The entire setup.

It's 867 (minus shipping costs) so I can have some leeway for the price fluctuations for everything, due to me using amazon, it happens a lot. With shipping it's in the 900 range.

I'll keep the GPU in mind and when I can get the stuff, I'll see if I'll be able to afford the 1060 / 1070, thanks for the suggestion tho bby

Doesn't mean my budget will be able to conform to it, It'll be minimum wage so that means only 1100 (give or take) per month.

$40 is really expensive for a cooler, you can get a good one for $20 (that'll save you enough money for a few happy meals at Mcdoodles)

Man, you're really starting from scratch aren't you

Also we both have Micro ATX cases and we can both fit double fan GPUs

Gonna go pick up my GTX1080 in a couple days
Woooo

I switched out the cooler for a Cooler Master Hyper T2 and I ended up changing my GPU to an ASUS Strix Rx 470 4GB OC so I think it'll be awesome

Both of these saved about 50 bucks too

Your going to use a pentium with an R9 380?
I dont really think thats a good idea tbh

The entire setup.
Drop the pointless CPU cooler and get an i3 instead of the Pentium: http://goo.gl/wVIuY0. Also, get an RX 470 instead of the 380: http://goo.gl/l3Q0kl

So I was playing the new AoT game and suddenly my computer loving died and I got this screen.

What does it mean?

I'll be overclocking to about 4.3 - 4.5 so itll be fine

I'll be overclocking so I need the cooler and pentium. Also I was able to change the GPU to an Asus STIX RX470 4gb OC and it stood relatively the same price so that's good
