Be sure to post some screenshots man.

I didn't find the game too bad. Maybe a bit too easy at the start, earning money was way too easy. Maybe there is a difficulty slider somewhere. Ill post some shots tomorrow. I do like the new zoning mechanics and the non-linear roads (you can curve them, they aren't just straight). Will probably buy when price goes down.

My dad is going to do the preoder on amazon, get key, cancel later

dont you half to pay full price when the game is released and not when you preorder it?

if i didnt get this right, could somebody take me through the steps so my dad wont pay full price for it and i just get to play beta?

going through at the trouble just for a beta key? A beta, where you can only build a city for an hour and play a tutorial, and thats all? Where half the buildings are unavailable?

yes

all the trouble

I WANT THAT GAME DAMNIT
also i find it funny that its only you that flames me for asking a question

My thoughts on the game so far after playing for like a small amount of time:

The game is VERY fun.  The data views are VERY informative.  The game is just incredibly well made.  Like this is in no way a paid statement, the game has been made very well.  I seriously can't wait to play the full version of the game and eagerly await release.

The only downside are the dreaded "online only" and "cloud savegame" functions.  My idea:  Make a single region (hard coded into the game) that is "offline capable".  You can't have multiplayer in it, i.e. other users cannot join you in this region, but the region is saved locally and is capable of offline play.  Also cannot interact outside the region in terms of global import/export/etc. and not capable of leaderboards/achievements.

also someone on /r/simcity made this really pretty city

Oh man this so fun. You can only play one hour at a time though.

It's a lot simpler to play than SimCity 4, but is more complex on the simulation level. The tutorial is also a lot better IMO. Can't wait to play online with other people, that's going to be interesting.  Will post pics next time I play, which is soon.

my only real problem with the game is that oh is it slow. I got like around 30 FPS on lowest settings, at 1920 x 1080

Do towns get bigger than the one in the beta, if not that's a bit of a huge problem.

There's an option to have the FPS be 60.

If you mean the size of region you build in, I don't think so but you can build multiple cities and have them work together or whatever.

I forgot to take pics near the beginning so I might post more tomorrow.

Check framerate cap.  Was wondering the same thing too, then changed it to 60 FPS.

I forget the rest of the settings for framerate cap, but I had to force Vsync on through Nvidia control panel because the screen tearing was annoying.  People are saying that the game runs nicely on low end computers too.  I'm gonna try running it on an Intel HD 3000 (Core i7 @ 2.3 GHz, 8GB RAM, 1920x1080) tomorrow.

I mean like the size of the plot a city is on, it's pretty tiny right now
