Author Topic: SimCity [Megathread]  (Read 67885 times)

So I've been playing SC 4 recently
Best one guys
This is a megathread rite
yeah it's p good

This is not the single article about this of all the internet, and i've seen on many articles which suggested to launch simcity via the shortcut

Then those news sites don't understand either.

If you read, ArsTechnica was referring to a protocol that Steam uses at well which allows you to initialize a game or join a server by clicking on a link; that's the browser exploit they are referring to.

TO EVERYONE READING: You do not need to launch through a shortcut. Origin is fine.

EDIT: In fact, if you would like an example of such a command, you could take a look at the Servers page on blockland.us itself; clicking the join button initializes a command similar to the one that can be exploited.

Lol.
Quallily Programers

And again, you don't understand.

Except for the part where EA can scan your PC and doesn't say what they are looking for while Valve only scans your pc to see how often you use it. It's not the fact that I have anything to hide, its the fact EA gave themselves the power to go through your stuff. It's against the law to break into EA's building and search through their files, but they can look through your pc for pirated software.

Okay, is everybody missing the point here?

EA forces you to use origin to play their games.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a sign of some sort?

Or that Maxis was too lazy to model and used Spore to make the "Monster".

Edit: Apart from the eyes and the back frills.

In their defense, it probably is convenient for them to use their own launching system for whatever reasons they may have (data processing/sending, maybe, as opposed to trusting another company). Abusing this ability is unacceptable, but it has legitimate use.

negatives outweigh the positives here in my opinion, for those of you play regularlybattlefield 3 your opinion will be different from mine

EA forces you to use origin to play their games.
boo hoo?
valve forces you to use steam, as do plenty of other developers

But valve says that they only keep track of how long you use steam and what steam applications you use. Valve can be a richard if someone hacks your account and gets it banned. Now you $348 can connect to vac secured servers and they wont unban you because of their bs policy. So you are forced to rebuy games, also almost everyone publishes on steam, origin only has ea.

Rumors about first official simcity DLC

Nissan "Leaf" car station, it might reduce pollution

true or false rumors?
not surprised considering Societies had like a bunch of BP logos as far as I can remember.

ok then dont get one
damn that was hard, wasn't it, nicky-boy?

and i guess you shouldn't have preordered a game from a company you supposedly hate so much lol
blow me
And no, I didn't pre-order either.

EA forces you to use origin to play their games.

I don't think you even need Origin open to play single player games.

You know you could have used a bit more imagination instead of being such a bitch. This obviously means that you can import your creatures from Spore and allow them to destroy your cities.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a sign of some sort?

Yes, you are.
In fact, I think it's pretty neat to make a reference to a previous game like that.
