Well there are just five or so seconds of footage so it isn't really fair to make a statement either way, but from what i saw it looks boring in comparison to the N64 one.

It's probably the clip. I don't see in any way how it could be more mundane than MK64's track.

Rainbow Road looks kind of disappointing.

I am disappointed with both Rainbow Roads. Those aren't Rainbow Road, those are Clockwork Road with some rainbows.

As for the music, I'm already in love with DS Tick Tock Clock.

I dunno about you guys but imo the soundtrack really isn't great in this game.

It sounds good, but it sounds more like background music than real RACING music. I dunno, the other mario kart soundtracks just sound so more...active.

Looking through the view count of each video. Turns out DS Tick Tock Clock clocks in at #3 most viewed of the soundtrack, only losing to (2) Rainbow Road and (1) N64 Rainbow Road. I'm guilty of at least 70 of these views.

edit: It may actually be #4, haven't checked Bowser's Castle yet
