God damn i been playing this non stop lol
Its kind of a dwarf fortress game. You pick tasks for your townie guys and hope they dont die.

The game is still in alpha so i dunno what all content is planned. But the game is stable and playable.

I let it run over night and woke up to find a ton of ghosts on the roof of my bunk house. Still thinking of a way to deal with them lol.

Fun! I have no idea how to mine downward though. I'm building a nice apartment complex right now.

I think I may try it out... I'm new to the "Dwart Fortress" and "Towns" thing, but I'll get the hang of it.

It's a lot of fun, though it's a little difficult but that's what makes it enjoyable.

Is it still in alpha?

Because $15 for a game that's in alpha is stupid.

I have one thriving town on a normal map with one dungeon cleared and I just started another on a snow map. Yeti love yo

And they didn't mention that its alpha at first, which gives it a Warz status.

Are you just trying to start stuff, or is this a joke?

mining and digging are basically the same thing. digging just selects tiles on the level beneath you, while mining only highlights tiles on the same level as yourself. just depends what direction you wanna tear into.

i just dig holes straight down (without the "dig a ladder" option)
and i just use scaffolds for everything climbing related. they are free, dont decay, and are more space efficient then stairs lol.

just remember that once you go under ground, dont dig to far into the -1, -3, -5 and so on level (unless you are grabbing a few ore from ceilings or floors)
stay on the even ones as thats where the actual grounds of dungeons are.

if you lose or wanna start new, use a mixed map.
its the same thing as normal but with an added patch of snow area. (like the jungle zones)

cherry pies are my main food lol
i use to be big on meat pies, but my people are handicapped half the time and eat raw meat instead. so now i just avoid queuing up meat at all.

so loving good, been following it since the beginning of development
the only problem is the awkward map navigation. I hate the way they did the layer system.
otherwise it's great

i just had to start a new game x.x

all the cows and pigs went extinct on my map somehow. i think my x10 permanent bone que had them all slaughtered without me realizing it.
i had waited to long to get to level -6 where you get craploads more bones then you would ever need.

i didnt really need cows at the time. but end game when i wanna have a little bit of everything renewable, i missed my chance at making farms.

early in the game you need to secure a wheat farm, each mushroom farm, tree farms, fruit farms, animal farms, flower farms.
before you accidentally wipe out the resources from the map lol.

days ago when i was noobing it, i had whiped out all trees just as a goal.
but then realized that new trees spawn FROM trees.
i had tree farms, so wood was ok. but baby trees (bushes) would never pop up again, and they are key to half the cool decorations in the game.

I dig down to the next level and cyclops killed everyone. I'm going to restart on a mixed map like you suggested.
