I have no idea where he got the file size from, I haven't seen it. But if it is actually that size it'd either be because of

12.667 quadrillion planets in the game currently. 422.22 quadrillion planets expected for release.

The planets are randomly generated and thus not taking too much space as for the game itself.
It could only affect the savefiles really.
