What really bugs me is the sci-fi in the game compared to fantasy.
Like, copper, iron, steel, gold, diamond. Really?
What about tungsten. What about graphene. What about alloys. It's the goddamn future and a pickaxe is a ton more powerful than a laser weapon thing.
And guns are plain terrible and useless.
The only guns effective in the game at the moment are sniper rifles and dual-pistols:
A sniper rifle can do decent damage despite the RoF and dual pistols can do more damage than a assault rifle while having a decent RoF if used well.
Any and all assault rifle I found in T2 were 1-2 DMG with 10 energy consumption per shot. I have two pistols each doing 6 DMG with 9 energy consumption per shot. That's just plain dumb.
And then there are shotguns. Whether one or all bullets hit the enemy, it does the exactly same amount of damage. They definitely don't work like they should, but (I hope) they are going to fix that... eventually.
And back on the future topic, what about rocket launchers, what about railguns, what about laser chainsaws, what about stun guns?
I really hope the weapon/tool progression system will change in the future because with all this fantasy it feels kind of dumb. Heck. Terraria is more futuristic than this. I just hope more from the future because I am aware this is a beta, and further balancing can take place.
