i just think making races having attributes to certain human cultures (and sub cultures) is stupid entirely

It's what gives the game most of its charm though

You could have made 7 races with 7 unique alien cultures but it'd be hard to get all of that motivation without any sort of reference.
Did they have to rip them straight from popular human culture? No.
Is it necessarily bad? A matter of opinion.

It'd fit better as a space station to be honest, maybe make the glitch ship some sort of siege engine.

Space Jews confirmed for next race, their space ship will be a space gas chamber and their powers are that they can collect all shekels in a 100 mile radius
