Author Topic: Captial punishment, good or bad?  (Read 13898 times)

No, because you just called me a forget up, dumb ass, expect retaliation.
Oh god, you're such a hypocrite.

On topic: This isn't a debate, it's a flame war.
It's only a flame war when you say it is.
Besides, we're debating civilly, unlike you and Atlas.
Both of you, please, keep on the topic at hand.

No, I just don't accept such narrow-minded insults.

I told you that murdering the person in revenge won't bring them back. If it gives you the satisfaction I hope you realize that you're having the same feeling that they had when they killed them, you might as well killed your wife yourself.

I can do this, if he doesn't continue to insult me.

If the killing is completely intentional there should be a capital punishment option that the victims loved ones can choose.
So is that like an eye for an eye kind of belief? If he intentionally killed someone then he should be intentionally killed?

Easily the dumbest thing I've read this month.

Shut up and debate, please.

I've already said my opinions and given reasons at least twice. If you're going to say that, say it to broze.

Even though we're one of the last "civilized" nations to use the death penalty, it still really isn't applied often and when it is it barely gets carried out. We've had thousands on death row every year since the 80's yet yearly executions have never crossed 100. Sitting on death row for over a decade is very common.

The idea that executing a murderer makes you as bad as them is ridiculous to me. They killed innocent people, you stopped a threat to innocent people.
Besides, imprisonment is also vengeance. Justice is just lawful revenge.

Simple, someone chooses to take a life, they are giving up there own, unless the reasons were self defense or something close

Edit: my friends dad got the death penalty for killing his wife, so I'm not new to this topic

Thank you.
Just
Stop insulting Broze for no obvious reason.
Broze, stop arguing with Atlas.

I personally believe that if they can be confined to an area out of society due to that being to hazardous for them to go back out there than executing them would be illogical. Condemning them for a certain crime would only encourage rage and hatred. This actually shouldn't be about punishing someone at all, but protecting society like the original function of the police was.

They might of killed innocent people, but will condemning them bring your loved ones or something of significance back? Is the temporary satisfaction of condemning them really worth it?

What about escape.

I'm not seeing how imprisonment is vengeance. We imprison them to prevent them from causing more harm to others.
