Author Topic: Copyright Alert System - is this a loving joke?  (Read 3979 times)

so i read about this thing called the "copyright alert system," which is supposedly a system to be implemented by major ISPs in the U.S., where they send you some kind of "alert" when you're suspected of downloading or sharing something illegally. they can make you watch educational videos and bottleneck your download speed.

There will always be a way around any form of copyright protection. It'll only make it a pain in the ass for the average person.

Oh god lol

It's only on uploading stuff, it seems. I'm not worrying yet.

To be honest, you'll never be able to stop people from downloading copyrighted things, and if you really don't want people pirating it, never release it.

Is there anything that we can actually do about this? The government won't help because the corporations own the government.

there is also the fact that their reasoning is perfectly valid
and that this already happens under the table
but you know

This is bullstuff. Land of the free?
