Cat Sick - Need advice.

My cat used to overeat. Lately, he has lost his appetite. Whereas he'd jump at ant sound of food, now he just sits there. We put him in front of the bowl, but he won't eat. He's been losing weight, and has been having trouble breathing. He's had this cough since we had him, but lately he's been coughing a lot more. It used to end in throwing up a hairball or something, but nothing has been coming up.

We took him to the vet today, and they checked him. But whatever is causing it, they need to do expensive tests to find out. We can't afford all the tests and such. Would anyone have any ideas on what we should do?

It could either be sick, or something worse. Either way you need to find a way to get it checked out.

My cat was like this a couple weeks ago. He would barely eat and was losing a decent amount of weight. Whenever he ate anything he would throw up or almost throw up. When we got tests on him his kidney or liver(forgot exactly which) was failing and we had to put him down. /:

Cats usually heal on their own, my cat had the same thing, we didn't have money for vet, she was back to normal in like a week.

Uh... very... mixed messages... My cat just came back from the basement. They injected him with things to see if it'd help. He said they'd make him urinate more, and his bathroom is downstairs... He doesn't even want to drink.
