Seriously, I'm so pissed at what my school and the Board of Education does to the Connecticut Mastery Test. I'm getting really tired of them since they get forgeted up at my middle school.
First off, at the beginning of the day, we have an "activity" period that helps us "wake up" and "be alert" for the test. forget no. Initially, some of the stuff we do is competitive against other classes. If you think about it, that puts pressure on us to win the games, which gets us stressed out when testing time comes. What the hell? Really? Second, the activities are absolutely HORRIBLE. The things we did today were:
- Walking while balancing a tennis ball in a spoon
- Throwing stuff into a hula hoop
WHAT THE forget. How does that even help us with the tests?! The other stuff we do on other days are so cliche, such as wall jumps, practically running around in loving circles and jumping jacks. I want to throw myself out a window.
Second, we can't do anything other than the test. Now that's ok for not allowing electronics but we can't even read BOOKS. The reason? Well, to keep checking the test. Lemme translate actually. They are forcing us to sit at our desks and re-read a test over and over for about 45 minutes since we all finish super early, to bore us to loving death. Seriously.
Third, they always have to go through the same goddamn routine. Every day, we have 2 tests so we keep listening to the instructions and doing the examples over and over and loving over. We get we need a No. 2 pencil! We understand we have to completely bubble in an answer! We aren't loving handicapped! Seriously, stop it! I know it's not the school's fault for that, I'm directing it to the BOE. Goddamn.
So yeah. I wish we could share our opinion about the tests with the teachers. It's pretty handicapped. Oh well. At least no homework for a week.
