Author Topic: Rant on testing at my school (CMTs).  (Read 2720 times)

Standardized Tests are waste of paper created by the Bush Administrations no child left behind act to make sure schools are teaching kids.

I was just asking a question. Wait, I thought you dropped out because of the baby.
Haha, try to hit me on the level of personal again, didn't work this time.

I'm actually taking Senior classes while being a Junior and at the same time taking post-secondary to get closer to the degree that is being paid for by my new employer.

Good try though.

Sorry I offended you, but I was just asking a question.

The forget? Sorry I offended you, but I was just asking a question. Don't be an asshat, jeez.
And I answered it, did I not?

Well yeah but I thought you were pissed at me. Sorry.

whiny =/= insult
in·sult
/inˈsəlt/
Verb
Speak to or treat with disrespect or scornful abuse.
Noun
A disrespectful or scornfully abusive remark or action.

Calling someone whiny is the epitome of disrespect.

It really doesn't matter now, the fight's pretty much done.

itt: young teens blindly defending other young teens about something that isn't a serious issue

You know this is last year of CMT's right? (I take these stupid tests too.) We have something else next year tho.

other than some artist pencils and colored pencils
it is fairly hard to find a pencil that is not #2

I like the tests accept for the activity time, here is my gist of "CMT"

Certainly

Mortal

Torture

Seriously, I'm so pissed at what my school and the Board of Education does to the Connecticut Mastery Test. I'm getting really tired of them since they get forgeted up at my middle school.

First off, at the beginning of the day, we have an "activity" period that helps us "wake up" and "be alert" for the test. forget no. Initially, some of the stuff we do is competitive against other classes. If you think about it, that puts pressure on us to win the games, which gets us stressed out when testing time comes You shouldn't be stressed out AFTER a game, and besides, it's still giving you energy.. What the hell? Really? Second, the activities are absolutely HORRIBLE. The things we did today were:
- Walking while balancing a tennis ball in a spoon
- Throwing stuff into a hula hoop
WHAT THE forget. How does that even help us with the tests?! The other stuff we do on other days are so cliche, such as wall jumps, practically running around in loving circles and jumping jacks. I want to throw myself out a window. You could be sluggish and groggy when you went there, but it makes you more alert and hypersensitive. For instance, carrying the egg focuses you on the egg, and throwing the 'stuff' helps you focus on the hoop, and your focus on anything ever has been enhanced

Second, we can't do anything other than the test. Now that's ok for not allowing electronics but we can't even read BOOKS. The reason? Well, to keep checking the test. Lemme translate actually. They are forcing us to sit at our desks and re-read a test over and over for about 45 minutes since we all finish super early, to bore us to loving death. Seriously. Some students actually like to look over their answers before you turn it in. Besides, if someone else isn't done, you could distract them with the book, depending on what it is.

Third, they always have to go through the same goddamn routine. Every day, we have 2 tests so we keep listening to the instructions and doing the examples over and over and loving over. We get we need a No. 2 pencil! We understand we have to completely bubble in an answer! We aren't loving handicapped! Seriously, stop it! I know it's not the school's fault for that, I'm directing it to the BOE. Goddamn. Some people could be new to the test, or absent on the first test. Also, they're required to do that by law, because there's such a break inbetween that you might know.

So yeah. I wish we could share our opinion about the tests with the teachers. It's pretty handicapped. Oh well. At least no homework for a week.

Ehh, besides giving us warm-up games, they tell us to get some sleep and have a good breakfast. They also give us some goldfish and water.

The rest is pretty much the same though, also named differently.

the STAAR test we have here in Texas are loving dumb. '

we have 5 hours of easy kindergarden stuff and they make the teachers think that they are the hardest test that will ever become of us. Some of the ass that we do is loving simple addition. Its easy as hell, but of course they make all of us do non stop "STAAR Practices". and before this bullstuff, we had TAKs Tests. They are basically STAAR, but we didn't have to do practices all the time.
