You appear to be saying that anyone who attempts to act smart (regardless of how relevant to the problem it is, and how actually smart they are: basically anyone who is too smart for you) is trying to enjoy life through being intelligent (but of course, the means to enjoy life "is more intelligent than [that]"), which equates to being afraid (at all times) to enjoy life, and is oblivious to the fact that they're human.
