On the present
The mod is in a basically playable state; there's not much more to be done before it would work publicly. Of course, it's very basic and not nearly what it can be, but i'm not really working on it right now. I've stopped working because everyone else stopped working. People who've started helping fell out. Fob at least had the courtesy to say that he'd rather focus on his own projects, which is completely understandable. The others just disappeared without word. Someone said they were working on a code to place food on tables so people could eat with their guild which would be a cute touch, but he's never mentioned it since. Someone else promised sword models at least 3 times, and those never came about. There were about 7 original builders, but only like 2 were left and that was months ago (most left without notice). I'm not talking about people who asked to help.
I know there were a couple who offered to build or model, but I never gave you anything to do yet. If you offered to model and weren't given a task, I was probably fine at the time. If you offered to build but never got a chance, the build team (at the time) probably didn't think your style would fit in. Don't feel like I'm blaming you if you are one of those people; if you never even had a chance to join the server, i'm probably not talking about you.I don't mean to sound dependent or stuborn, but i cannot continue to work on this yet because it requires a constant stream of active building to keep up with mod content. I usually pride myself on being able to do mostly everything, besides building, alone (scripting, modeling, writing, sounds, music, design, and sometimes i'll build) but for this, i just cannot keep up with it all. Right now i'm able to handle the mod, but eventually people are going to get tired of fighting the same humanoid enemies every world, so i'll have to devote a huge chunk of time into creature modeling and animating, and playertypes are easily the hardest thing to get completely right. And right now, the build is stagnant so i'd have to half-ass that together as well (or spend a badspot-tier long time 'working' on everything at once, which i don't plan to). I'm not even going to get into the current state of BL dedicated hosting, it (sadly) should belong in drama right now.
it's not that i'm uninterested in continuing this and 'giving up' on the idea. i'm completely interested in continuing this, but have no interest in maintaining it alone.
I was relying on the help of others because I know this isn't something I can keep up alone. Once it goes live with one world done, people are going to run out of things to do and are going to want to see a 2nd and 3rd world, with new content and story. I realistically cannot maintain what I have, update the models, code, client, build, story, decals, music, and playermodels (a feat in and of itself), at the same time. I've grown tired of waiting for people to become interested in helping, and I'm probably not going to bump this thread any longer as long as a lack of interest (from contributers) continues.
Thank you all of those who worked when you did. The project wouldn't have even progressed this far without you.
