The "You don't take criticism well" comment was more directed toward suggestions/issues brought up on your servers as you've yelled at me for suggestions/issues I had.

As for the server I was thinking of, I'm pretty use it was the Winter TDM. I remember snow but also these stone structures that looked like a good rout to jump across with a pit below them as I mentioned.

I'm glad to hear the RPG wont be using/ limiting use of invisible walls. It really breaks immersion. Same goes for base plate boundaries.
Also as a question, what was that Point TDM that had the midway point between bases be a vertical cave where the team on the bottom portion had no way to get up to the other team's base cap? You yelled at me for questioning that.

I can't do terrain though...
I am a very good terrainer, so I can cover that for you!

i'm not sure. all i can think of is the cave point of the winter tdm. it had a little water pool in it.

He's talking about the one where you explode the cave to open.

on the subject more recent siege build you can find on heeds server I plan to do the following

  • No invisible barriers, at the borders of the map the whole thing will just go down to become a large island
  • One way capture points, once a point is captured its collision is turned off in till the minigame reset. This will fix the problems past siege servers have of once you captured a point and get pushed back you have to capture it over again.

Slopes Siege - completed siege
Pirates vs Navy Ship Battle - unfinished/scraped. would have been a siege of the island by the pirates in the end
Winter TDM/Rush - unfinished/scraped. siege and attack of blue capital
Islands TDM/Siege - finished, team that got to the islands defended against attack from the other
New Siege/TDM (wip) - red sieges blue wall, unfinished but wip

out of the 11 servers listed 5 were/planned siege builds. One team was meant to defend and the other attack. It is always much easier to defend since you don't have to move though. Everything was balanced but people just got pissed off at the fact the defenders had an easier job. The newest siege build should fix problems the old ones had with one way capture points. PM me about stuff you have problems with since I build the places not heed.

Is this still being worked on?

Is this still being worked on?
yes but not as much. the plan was to finish the new TDM first, then work on BAO, but after RTB shut down i've been unable to host. i started working more single-player. just yesterday i made the first update in about a month.

Ah, I see. I was just wondering since I finished SAO and now I really want to see this happen :P

build is no where near done but the script is almost ready to go. the client now auto updates and stuff (thanks greek2me!)

Looks great so far and looking forward to this! Good luck with it!

Oooooooh i support this 100% :D

On the present

The mod is in a basically playable state; there's not much more to be done before it would work publicly. Of course, it's very basic and not nearly what it can be, but i'm not really working on it right now. I've stopped working because everyone else stopped working. People who've started helping fell out. Fob at least had the courtesy to say that he'd rather focus on his own projects, which is completely understandable. The others just disappeared without word. Someone said they were working on a code to place food on tables so people could eat with their guild which would be a cute touch, but he's never mentioned it since. Someone else promised sword models at least 3 times, and those never came about. There were about 7 original builders, but only like 2 were left and that was months ago (most left without notice). I'm not talking about people who asked to help. I know there were a couple who offered to build or model, but I never gave you anything to do yet.  If you offered to model and weren't given a task, I was probably fine at the time. If you offered to build but never got a chance, the build team (at the time) probably didn't think your style would fit in. Don't feel like I'm blaming you if you are one of those people; if you never even had a chance to join the server, i'm probably not talking about you.

I don't mean to sound dependent or stuborn, but i cannot continue to work on this yet because it requires a constant stream of active building to keep up with mod content.  I usually pride myself on being able to do mostly everything, besides building, alone (scripting, modeling, writing, sounds, music, design, and sometimes i'll build) but for this, i just cannot keep up with it all. Right now i'm able to handle the mod, but eventually people are going to get tired of fighting the same humanoid enemies every world, so i'll have to devote a huge chunk of time into creature modeling and animating, and playertypes are easily the hardest thing to get completely right. And right now, the build is stagnant so i'd have to half-ass that together as well (or spend a badspot-tier long time 'working' on everything at once, which i don't plan to). I'm not even going to get into the current state of BL dedicated hosting, it (sadly) should belong in drama right now.

it's not that i'm uninterested in continuing this and 'giving up' on the idea. i'm completely interested in continuing this, but have no interest in maintaining it alone. I was relying on the help of others because I know this isn't something I can keep up alone. Once it goes live with one world done, people are going to run out of things to do and are going to want to see a 2nd and 3rd world, with new content and story. I realistically cannot maintain what I have, update the models, code, client, build, story, decals, music, and playermodels (a feat in and of itself), at the same time. I've grown tired of waiting for people to become interested in helping, and I'm probably not going to bump this thread any longer as long as a lack of interest (from contributers) continues.

Thank you all of those who worked when you did. The project wouldn't have even progressed this far without you.

I really wish you could get the help you need for this.

It seemed like one of the more interesting and large Blockland projects. And probably the one that's made the most progress of them all. The only large things I've ever seen make it out of the development phases are some cheap grinding RPGs.
I know I'm not one to talk. I've pretty much abandoned any large project I've started, but that's mostly due to lack of interest in BL, as well as the fear of running into this exact same issue. I can't build. I can't model. I could try, but that's just too much of a load just for one person. Especially since as you've said, playertypes are a lot of work.

I'd offer to help you with BAO, but, I don't work well with other's projects especially when someone else is scripting. I hope more interest comes along.

I guess I could do some models.

What are we talking about? Hats and weapons? Bricks maybe?
I can model and texture (color the models, since it's Blockland) but I don't do well with exporting into DTS.
But if you're fine with it I could just send models in OBJ, 3DS, and such, for you to DTS-ify them yourself.

Here's a leftover :cookie:

I was hoping that this would be successful. If your desperate for a server, you can use my HammerHost server. I've used Hammer's services since before the huge drama thing, and he hasn't done anything with any of my files or my key, so I trust him.

no no no no no no
Hammer host is worse than hosting it from a non-dedi server and only opening for a few hours a day!!
go for a VPS! Talk to Tokerovin about how to set one up if you need help, its the best option.
