They're threats aren't serious, and the government hasn't been any more worried than normal. If you read anything about they keep saying their threats aren't real but we're prepared to engage them if they do anything.

honestly, with the amount of tactical insertion subs that the norks have lying around, it wouldn't surprise me if these purported nuclear weapons were actually inserted into the US a coastal landing, moved to the target by ground teams, and detonated on the surface. That way, it could be pawned off as terrorist attacks and the north has no blood on its hands diplomatically.


This means our missile defense is worthless, makes homeland security look like a bunch of morons, and could (possibly) scare the US out of a war.


Or, it could steel the resolve of the population and make a war actually happen.

It would be very obvious if they were trying to move a large nuclear device into a major city or populated area, they would have to hide it in something like a tanker truck or use a smaller bomb. Also, it could also be spotted by coast guard helicopters running the coast, where ever i've been you can see a few helicopters fly by  every hour. Some of them for actual coast guard stuff and some for training, but they would notice a submarine unloading to a beach.
