Author Topic: Shovel Knight - An 8-bit homage to Mega Man, Castlevania, and Dark Souls!  (Read 6704 times)

Jon's reaction to the gryphon was my reaction as well.

This game looks hella fun.

Since Plague Knight is my favorite boss knight so far I thought I'd show my love, unfortunately my pixel art skills are awful so I could only do the simple bomb toss and not a full-on idle animation. Someone else might steal his spot if/when they reveal the last three knights, but for now he's my pick. Top left is probably Death Knight, bottom could be Tiny Knight or Robot Knight, no idea what the bottom left could be though it looks like he's got some sort of grappling hook.

They're already $5,000 away from the physical copies, lol. That Game Grumps video and the shout-out on Ego's twitter really got things going.

i hope its not just mindless downstabbing though ;-;

You can play as the other knights too, so I doubt that'll be the case.

God I can't wait for the release.

that is not a grappling hook

that is a motherloving anchor

oh my god physical copies
i'll totally buy one when it comes out for 3ds
jesus

Alright, looks like I was wrong: You don't actually get a physical copy of the game, just a "NES-Style box" along with your digital copy. I could've sworn they said something about it, probably because they said "real, physical box", but today's update says that "there is not actually anything inside the box... except our hopes and dreams!" If you paid $50 in hopes of getting a physical copy I apologize, but I believe you can lower your backing amount at any time before the Kickstarter is over if you're not satisfied.

They revealed another Knight today, too:

So I guess I was wrong about what he'd be.

(Unrelated note: The image above automatically put "width=1000" in the image tags, and I don't have any forum-related extensions installed...is that some new feature Badspot added to help reduce horizontal page stretching?)

Remember: Shovel Knight needs your help on Steam Greenlight! "Steam Greenlight picks their next batch of games next week, and we haven’t even gotten to the top 100 games."

And last but not least, Yacht Club will be having a livestream during the last 24 hours of the Kickstarter tomorrow at 8PM PST.

Someone get me a 3ds key and I will love you.

I have a 10$ off origin purchases code to offer.

There's only about 24 hours left until the Kickstarter is over, so if you haven't backed it yet you'd better get on it! Yacht Club will be starting their livestream marathon shortly, playing games and talking about Shovel Knight for the remainder of the Kickstarter period.

Also, it seems my message was heard:

Unfortunately there's no discount for getting multiple copies of the game...makes sense, but it's a bummer.

howdy dracosoul

anyway i hope 300k is hit

There are only about 12 hours left of the Kickstarter, with the backing total reaching around $280,000. If you want to hit that last goal, you'd better tell your friends or chip in some more!

Yacht Club is still going strong on their livestream talking about Shovel Knight as they go, currently they're playing the last level of Jamestown.
